I am looking for a dog and owner of a small, laptop dog that can be held onstage for 4 - 5 minutes - very docile, Chihuahua type -

This is for LADY DAY AT EMERSONS BAR AND GRILL -  running December 6 - 23rd.  The lovely beast would need to be there for the last two dress rehearsals, as wll as 30 minutes before he/she goes on each night. That time would be approximately 8:10 pm each night, 2:50 for the Sunday matinees -  The dog/owner will get a small  but appreciated honorarium as well as comps and other goodies.  the dog will get standing ovations, lots of love, and a resume....

Inspecting Carol

by Daniel J. Sullivan

Almost bankrupt, the little Soapbox Theatre Company struggles to mount its annual cash cow, the Charles Dickens classic, A Christmas Carol. An inspector from the National Endowment for the Arts is due to show up any second, but when a new actor arrives to audition and is mistaken for the inspector, the acting troupe caters to his every whim to try to collect desperately needed funding. THE STANDBYS - inde doc about Broadway understudies and standbys - screenings

From: Jessica Hendricks [mailto:jessica@sunchaserent.com]
Sent: Friday, October 26, 2012 12:22 PM
Subject: TTA in subject line.

The following message is forwarded from the director of THE STANDBYS:

Dear Tucson Theatre Announcements,

THE STANDBYS - our independent documentary film about Broadway understudies and standbys that is being given a limited theatrical release in your area. The film follows the lives of three Broadway standbys who have to prepare themselves each night but never go on and whom Nathan Lane declared "stars in their own right." The challenges of these unsung heroes are put into perspective with interviews from various industry insiders and celebrities.

Having gone to university to study Directing for the theatre at Carnegie Mellon, I know how incredibly hard it is to have a career in the performing arts! I believe that the struggles and triumphs revealed in THE STANDBYS will connect with your students and inspire them in a very challenging industry.

I am writing you today to enlist your support. The film is scheduled for a limited theatrical release in your area Friday Nov. 9th through Thursday Nov. 15th. I would love to find the best way to enable everyone to see the film while it's in theaters. I can put you in touch with bulk discounts on tickets are available as well as a select number of free VIP passes. We will also be doing live Q&As in all the theaters so your students will have a chance to ask me and the featured performers questions.

And I am most proud of our very special "Pay it Forward" program in which students in need can receive ticket to go see THE STANDBYS from anonymous donors. If you believe you have students or classes who could not afford tickets and we will attempt to match them with donors.

Below are some of the films press clippings and you can see the TRAILER HERE. There's also more information on our website www.TheStandbys.com

I look forward to hearing back from you about how we can help you see THE STANDBYS! And If there's someone else I should be in touch with, please let me know.

All the best,

Stephanie Riggs
