Sent: Thursday, March 31, 2016 12:58 PM
Subject: Re: Looking for someone to video and edit a PSA

We are looking for a Videographer/Filmmaker to assist us with a Public Information Film concerning Arizona's upcoming special election.

The piece is a slam poem. There are 12 stanzas that will be read by 12 different people in a very fast paced rhythm and the editing will result in the poem being read seamlessly from one to the next.

We need to complete the project quickly to enable the PSA to be posted prior to April 15th.

Please contact Tamar Rala   cnkthedots@gmail.com

Please include a link to one of your works. Thank you very much.

A Year with Frog and Toad

Theatre for young audiences

Music by Robert Reale

Book and Lyrics by Willie Reale

Based on the books by Arnold Lobel

Live Theatre Workshop kicks off its season    by shining the spotlight on our commitment to developing the next generation of theatre lovers in the Tucson community. Our Children's Theatre program takes center stage with A Year with Frog and Toad.

Waking from hibernation in the Spring, Frog and Toad plant gardens, swim, rake leaves, go sledding, and learn life lessons along the way. The two best friends celebrate and rejoice in the differences that make them unique and special. Part vaudeville, part make believe, all charm, A Year with Frog and Toad tells the story of a friendship that endures throughout the seasons. A hit on Broadway, A Year With Frog And Toad was nominated for 3 Tony Awards - including Best Musical. Based on Arnold Lobel's well-loved books and featuring a hummable score by Robert and Willie Reale, this whimsical show follows two great friends -- the cheerful, popular Frog and the rather grumpy Toad -- through four, fun-filled seasons.

THE LADY WITH ALL THE ANSWERS by David Rambo

Starring Lesley Abrams

For decades, newspaper columnist Ann Landers dispensed wit and wisdom to millions of Americans in need of advice. In THE LADY WITH ALL THE ANSWERS, Landers finds herself writing a column about a new kind of heartbreak-- her own. Drawn from Landers' life and letters, this show is a touching and comic portrait of a wise, funny, no-nonsense woman who is one of the most influential figures in America. Through her sometimes controversial opinions, she shaped the way Americans viewed everything from war and politics; marriage, divorce and sexuality, to the proper way to hang a roll of toilet paper in the bathroom.

[sic] meaning "thus, so, as such or in such a manner," a term that appears in quoted material to inform the reader that what they are reading is being "reproduced verbatim" so ignore any strange spelling, phrasing or punctuation. That's just the way it is. In adjacent apartments that resemble nothing so much as broom closets with windows, three young, ambitious neighbors come together to discuss, flirt, argue, share their dreams, and plan their futures with unequal degrees of humor, hopefulness and abject despair, all the while pushing the limits of their friendship to the max and de Ramonstrating that language can be both an instrument of intimacy and a weapon of defense. BUYER & CELLAR by Jonathan Tolins

An irresistible one-man play with the most delicious fictitious premise —an underemployed Los Angeles actor goes to work as a shopkeeper in the basement of Barbra Streisand's Malibu home. Laugh out loud as this play utilizes wit and perspicacity to poke fun at the solitude of celebrity, the love-hate attraction between men and divas, and the melancholy that lurks beneath narcissism. "This seriously funny slice of absurdist whimsy creates the illusion of a stage filled with multiple people, all of them with their own droll point of view." —NY Times. "A fantasy so delightful you wish it were true." —The New Yorker. "Fantastically funny." —NY Post.

THE CRIPPLE OF INISHMAAN by Martin McDonagh

Set on the small Aran Islands community of Inishmann off the Western Coast of Ireland in 1934, the inhabitants are excited to learn of a Hollywood film crew's arrival in neighboring Inishmore to make a documentary about life on the islands. "Cripple" Billy Claven, eager to escape the gossip, poverty and boredom of Inishmaan, vies for a part in the film, and to everyone's surprise, the orphan and outcast gets his chance.... or so some believe. "McDonagh's…comic talent appears unlimited, and he also has a way…of mixing up his humor with a touch of the poet and a profound sense of tragedy always dangerously lurking on comedy's untidy fringe. In short, young McDonagh is a playwright to reckon with…" —NY Post.

BELOW THE BELT by Richard Dresser

An absurdist corporate comedy. Somewhere, in an anonymous factory cranking out units of some unnamed product, three men try to maintain some semblance of humanity and self, despite a crushingly conformist and hyper-masculine bureaucracy. "Gloriously funny but also wickedly insightful... is never short of laugh lines... Lurking beneath the almost farcical hilarity is a bundle of 20th century angst... The jokes are beautifully in place, permitting the three gorgeously combative figures to emerge." - The New York Post

ANNAPURNA by Sharr White

After twenty years apart, Emma tracks Ulysses to a trailer park in the middle of nowhere for a final reckoning. What unfolds is a visceral, profound, funny, sweet meditation on love and loss with the simplest of theatrical elements: two people in one room. A breathtaking story about the longevity of love. "White's poetry is endearing and quite lovely, and his dialogue is sharp, funny and consistently very honest…"—BroadwayWorld.com.

Dear Ones,

Arete Theatre Forge et al. would like to invite you to A Theory of Hearing.

What is this play? This play is a living play, about a living Earth, meant not so much to present a case to you to process and absorb, but to pull you in and implicate you in the drama involved. And not just you. The stars, and the trees, and the fire, and the plants and the birds and the dirt and the rocks - they are all coming along for the ride as well.

We have worked long and hard on bringing you a play that is not merely entertainment, but a play that will hopefully move you to understand better - who am I? who are we? what are we doing? and why?

The performance is an outdoor production, and will include food afterwards as an opportunity to create community among us. We want to come together with you.

The play features Lacie Hinton, Ramjeet Kaur, Diane Call, Andrew Farley, Robert Cohen, Sydney Flynn, Vince Flynn, Dave Sewell, and Klara Wojtkowska.

Please come. It will be worth your while.

Green Fields Drama Students Play Multiple Characters in "Almost, Maine"

TUCSON, AZ "Almost, Maine" is a remote mythical hamlet so far north, it's almost in Canada and almost forgotten. This play, written by John Cariani, is a series of amiably absurdist vignettes about love in the middle of winter in this smaller than small town.

It will be presented on April 14 and 15 by the advanced drama class at Green Fields K-12 School. Everyone plays multiple roles as the stories of these quirky characters unfold. "Almost, Maine" directed by faculty member Mickey Nugent.

The play takes place one cold, clear night while the Northern Lights hover in the sky above. The residents of Almost find themselves falling in and out of love in the strangest ways. Love is lost, found and confounded. It's love but not quite.

Critics call this charming play "utterly endearing," "magical" "sweet, poignant and witty." The New York Post described it as "Thornton Wilder crossed with "The Twilight Zone."

First staged in 2004 in Portland, Maine, the play proved popular in both professional and nonprofessional theatre companies worldwide. "Almost, Maine" is now the most produced play in North American high schools, recently supplanting Shakespeare's "A Midsummer Night's Dream," according to Dramatics magazine.

There are nine short scenes Her Heart, Sad and Glad, This Hurts, Getting It Back, They Fell, Where It Went, Story of Hope and Seeing the Thing plus the prologue which continues in the interlogue and epilogue.

Five graduating seniors are featured, performing their final roles on the stage of the Green Fields Center for the Performing Arts. They are Maggie Alexander, Madelyn Darnell, Noah McKenna, Danielle Ozols and Alex Weeks.

Tickets are $8 at the door. The curtain goes up at 7 p.m. The 22-acre Green Fields campus is in northwest Tucson at 6000 N. Camino de la Tierra, near Orange Grove and Shannon Roads.
