Tucson Improv Movement seven amazing shows this weekend

From: Tucson Improv Movement <justin@tucsonimprov.com>
Sent: Thursday, June 22, 2023 7:00 AM
Subject: Yes and News - 6/22/23

You have one final weekend to catch shows at the theater in June, because the theater will be dark from June 29th through July 1st as we take a holiday break.  We love laughing with you, but we know you have a ton of barbeques lined up, or are getting out of town for the holiday, so you'll need to laugh at your weird uncle Joe, or at your family member who gets a bit to close to a sparkler.  But before you get to an amazing 4th of July weekend we have some hilarious comedy lined up for you, seven amazing shows to be exact!

We also have some announcements on things changing once we get back!  We have not raised our show prices for a long time, and people keep talking about inflation but it has been real for us.  We looked around at other improv theaters and decided it was time to up the price.  Starting in July all Friday and Saturday shows will cost $9 with a laugh pass for both shows priced at $12.  Thursday night shows will be staying at the $5 price.

Another change is we are going to stop the Thursday night Open Mic that has been occurring at 8:30pm.  It hasn't gotten a consistent following, and we want to make sure every event happening at the theater is up to your standards.  So for July and August, we are going to take a break from Thursday at 8:30pm as we reevaluate what should go into that timeslot.

Thank you for your continued support!  We love laughing with you Tucson, and want to make sure we can continue to provide you the best location for live and local comedy in the Old Pueblo!

Tickets are now on sale for Mean Girls at:

Cady Heron may have grown up on an African savanna, but nothing prepared her for the wild and vicious ways of her strange new home: suburban Illinois. How will this naïve newbie rise to the top of the popularity pecking order? By taking on The Plastics, a trio of lionized frenemies led by the charming but ruthless Regina George. But when Cady and her friends devise a "Revenge Party" to end Regina's reign, she learns the hard way that you can't cross a Queen Bee without getting stung. Adapted from Fey's hit 2004 film, Mean Girls was nominated for a staggering 12 Tony Awards. This queen-bee took Broadway by storm and has joined the musical in-crowd.

Directed by Kaitlin Bertenshaw, this full production is the final presentation of the first Musical Theater Summer Camp collaboration of Southern Arizona Performing Arts Company and The Inner Voice Studio. These high schoolers will blow you away!
