Join The School of Ballet Tucson for the 2024-2025 school year!
The School of Ballet Tucson is the official school of Tucson's only Professional Ballet Company and the most prestigious ballet academy in Southern Arizona. We have provided exceptional training in a wide variety of dance styles for the past 38 years. At SBT we are proud to create an environment that cultivates a deep love for the art form and inspires greater self-expression for students of all ages.
Enrollment is now open for the 2024-2025 School year! SBT offers classes for students age 3-Adult. We have added some exciting new classes to our curriculum this school year including Tap for levels 2-7 and Advanced Improvisation. We are also expanding our Open Class program with new Teen/Adult classes: Classical Variations, Jazz (Beginning and intermediate) and Bollywood! AUGUST 5-10, 2024
During Free Class Week we invite new students to The School of Ballet Tucson to explore all of our wonderful class offerings before registering for the school year. Students will be assessed by our experienced faculty members, placed in appropriate class levels and presented with a recommended training schedule.

New classes with Jillian Peterson!
We are thrilled to welcome Jillian Peterson to The School of Ballet Tucson faculty! Ms. Peterson recently graduated with a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Arizona. She is an accomplished instructor with over 30 years of experience and thanks to her great expertise in a diverse array of dance styles, we have added some exciting new classes to our curriculum this school year, Tap and Teen/Adult Bollywood! She will also be instructing some Jazz classes and Conditioning, contributing her knowledge as a certified Mat Pilates instructor to SBT.
About Jillian Peterson
Jillian Peterson is an accomplished dancer, choreographer, and educator from Baltimore, Maryland, with over 30 years of experience in modern and contemporary dance, and a focus on Indic dance forms. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance from Slippery Rock University. Recently, Jillian graduated with a Master of Fine Arts from the University of Arizona, where she was awarded the Outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistant by the School of Dance as well as the College of Fine Arts.
During her time at Slippery Rock University, she was honored with a scholarship opportunity to study Bharatanatyam in Chennai, India, under the tutelage of the renowned artist and teacher, Revathi Ramachandran. Jillian's career includes performing with the Bollywood production "Mystic India: The World Tour" and touring South Africa with ReVision Dance Company. She has taught Bollywood classes and conducted workshops along the East Coast, aiming to enrich students' understanding of dance by highlighting its cultural, historical, and social aspects.
Jillian is excited to be part of the team at The School of Ballet Tucson, sharing her love of dance with this amazing community!
We are also delighted that three leading dancers of the Ballet Tucson company will be joining our SBT faculty, giving our students the opportunity to learn from the professional dancers they see perform world-class works on our stage throughout the season.
Demi Soloist dancer Duncan Barlow: Ballet, Modern and Teen/Adult Beginning Ballet and Dancer Fit class.
Principal dancer Madeleine Kuebler: Ballet, Pointe, Classical Variations, Repertoire, Partnering and Teen/Adult Classical Variations.
Soloist dancer Edward Oyarce-Solomon: Ballet, Jazz, Modern, Partnering, Advanced Improvisation and Teen/Adult Beginning Ballet and Beginning Jazz.
Our students and their families experience the benefit of discounted tickets to all Ballet Tucson company performances. We believe in the importance of exposing our students to inspiring, world-class dance and choreography. All SBT students receive an exclusive code for 40% off tickets for Ballet Tucson's entire 2024-2025 performance season. Graduates of our school also have the opportunity to be considered for an Apprenticeship with our professional company.
