The TucsonFilm.com ShortFest
ANNOUNCES APRIL 15 FILM FESTIVAL SCHEDULE


Tucson, AZ – The TucsonFilm.com ShortFest – a one-day film festival dedicated to the best truly independent short films – is in final preparations for their Saturday, April 15 festival at The Loft Cinema (3233 E Speedway Blvd.) in Tucson. Complete festival details and a list of selected films will be posted at the www.TucsonFilm.com Web site.

Among the selected films are the Oscar-nominated “7:35 In The Morning,” a showcase of award-winning shorts from Spain, other international and U.S. entries, and the best from Arizona filmmakers.

A $10 ticket gives access to the afternoon filmmaker’s seminar and all festival screenings. Tickets are available in advance and at the door through The Loft box office. (Call 795-0844 to order tickets by phone.)

TucsonFilm.com ShortFest Schedule of Events: Saturday, April 15, 2006

3:00 pm – 5:30 pm Filmmaker Seminar:
In The Loft upstairs theater, first-come seating. Seasoned pros Marlowe Weisman (current Emmy Nominee), Dick Fisher (Sundance Festival winner), Mike Rom (Tucson director) and Joe Jones (British actor) will discuss the practical challenges of working in independent production and short form filmmaking.

6 pm – 7pm Filmmaker Reception:
In The Loft lobby. An informal reception and mixer for the festival's filmmakers, the industry seminar experts, and filmgoers. Food, soft drinks, beer and wine available. Don't miss this relaxed networking opportunity with locals who make films!

7 pm – 10 pm Festival Film Screening:
Three hours of the best selected short films, in the main Loft Theater downstairs, with a short intermission at the end of each hour. Hosted by Mexican Super-Hero and independent film crusader, El Super Ocho.

10 pm Filmmaker Awards:
Prizes to assist filmmakers on their next films will be awarded for the “Best of Arizona,” “Best of Show,” and an “Audience Selection.” Other prizes will go to audience members for attending the festival and supporting truly independent film.
