Auditions
for
OLD PUEBLO PLAYWRIGHTS
26TH ANNUAL NEW PLAY FESTIVAL
Original roles in 6 new plays
written by local Tucson playwrights
Monday, December 5th, 7:00 P.M.
in the Rehearsal Hall,
(upstairs, behind the Cabaret Theater)
at the Temple of Music and Art, 330 S. Scott, Downtown Tucson
No appointment necessary. Actors are asked to perform a one-minute monologue during auditions, memorized or script in-hand. Resume and photo are preferred but not required. Call backs will be held the same evening. Sides will be provided during call backs.
GREAT ROLES AVAILABLE for men and women projecting 18 to 80 years of age; African-American actors (a college-aged man, and women 40 to 80) are especially invited to audition.
6 scripts—ranging from a 20 minute one-act to 3 full-length plays—will be performed at this year's festival, which will run Thursday-Sunday, January 19 – 22, 2017. Each play will be performed once—as a script-in-hand staged reading, providing the actor with the opportunity to develop a character that has never been seen on stage before. Because the works are considered “under Construction," blocking, costumes, and settings will be kept to a minimum. Memorization is not required, although there will be from 3 to 6 rehearsals for each show.
