The thermometer says... Summer is here!!!

🎪🎪🎪

It has been a long few weeks full of research, drafting new procedures, taking classes on disease prevention, being part of focus groups and committees about safety and restructuring and I think we have finally come up with a plan for the summer.

Virtual Classes

-We will continue to run our virtual classes through the month of May. Tran will  take the last week of May off of her classes.

Why our virtual classes? A focus on interaction, being social, and looking away from the screen. I keep time looking at the screen strictly to interacting and other time focused on movement and being in our bodies!

-In June Katherine plans to continue Tues/Thursday 2:00 conditioning and Wed/Fri 3:30 (is currently at 3, will switch to 3:30 in June) Get Moving Sessions!

-Tran is offering an expanded list of Handstands, Conditioning, Contortion and more for adults all through June!

-Keep an eye out here: https://circusacademytucson.com/online-classes as we update the schedule.

Camps

-Virtual Beginner's Camp-

We will offer a half-day virtual camp for the month of June. This will focus on props, fun and movement games. All information and registration here: https://circusacademytucson.com/virtual-camp

-Virtual Advanced Camp-

We will offer a camp 2.5 hours, three afternoons a week, plus some optional bonus sessions. This will focus on contortion, conditioning, dance and theater. It is not limited to current advanced students, but rather students that wish to focus hard on these skills. All current youth and kid's contortion students should consider this for the month of June as Tran's weekly classes will focus on adults.

-June Onsite Camps-

We will offer a half-day on site camp capped at 8 students. This camp will be a pared down version of our camp to allow for socially distanced learning and fun!

-July Onsite Camps-

We plan to run a full day camp in July that is much more like our regular camp, but probably still won't include silks. Registration for both regular level and advanced camp in July is up on the website. Unless things go downhill in the next few weeks we will move forward with both!

Onsite Classes

We are running a mini-session for the rest of May that is full and will run a 4-week June session. Classes are in groups no larger than three students and one teacher and we will base the schedule on who wants to participate. For full details and to register click here:

Register for June ASAP, slots will fill up! Times available are 8-12 and 4 to 8 Mon-Fri and any time Sat/Sun.

If you are interested in attending you MUST pre-register. We will only offer classes based on who pre-registers. There will be no published weekly schedule, it will be created around who is attending in order to uphold social distancing.

We are still deciding if we want to resume group classes in July or stick with this model for now.

Survey and Safety Measures

Our survey is still available here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/QQXHJ9S

and we'd love more feedback.

Our safety measures are available here:  https://circusacademytucson.com/proposed-safety-measures

and we are always open to more suggestions! We also have some more camp specific safety measures that will be published at that link by the end of the week!

Donations

We have been super lucky to receive some funding through the PPP and EIDL government loan programs! With our current funds, we are still hoping to raise an additional $10-15,000 to keep us afloat through the end of the year. We still have some loan and grant applications that we haven't heard back about, but your donations mean the world to us and have been essential to us staying open for this time!
