LTW presents HIR

Coming Soon to the LTW Mainstage:

HIR

by Taylor Mac

September 7 - 24, 2023

When a son returns home from Afghanistan ready to challenge his abusive father, he finds an unexpected scenario: Isaac’s father has suffered a debilitating stroke and his mother has gleefully taken control of the household with unwavering support from little sister Max, newly out as transgender. Isaac revels in the old, “be careful what you wish for” mantra, as he struggles to find his place in this new family dynamic. Celebrated as a dysfunctional family dramedy for a new era, Taylor Mac’s HIR turns patriarchy on its head with intriguingly fresh results.

Note: This show contains explicit language and adult themes.

We love 4th Avenue! This quirky little street is our home, and we want to shout out the things that we love about it.  So watch our social media over the next couple of weeks as we will be shouting out our favorite places as voted on by our TIM Company Members.  You will discover our favorite Favorite Restaurant, Food Item, Bar, Drink, Store, and Artwork.  While there were a few winners, there were so many places that our company members voted for. The Ave is a treasure trove of mystery and whimsey at the center of Tucson.  So the next time you come out to a show check out a restaurant, shop, or bar, and make sure to ask our performers in the lobby after the show for a recommendation!

We have a fun weekend of shows in store for you.  The Cage Match is back tonight.  Will STFU defend their title as Cage Match Champions, they need your votes, or will one of their competitors Amy and Adam, I Was Promised Magic, or Veronica's Room take the crown?!?!  Then on Friday night at 9pm Magghie O'Shea headlines the Stand Up Comedy Show.  Get ready for a punbelievable night in Tucson's battle of wit and word Saturday night at 7:30pm in Punball Wizards!

(Re)Telling Tucson's Story
Friday Night at 7:30pm

Max Adler is originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Max moved out to Tucson to play oboe in the Tucson Symphony Orchestra. He also enjoys playing piano, singing, dancing, and being a constant annoyance to his neighbors. Max began improv about a year ago and loves the improv community at TIM, and is excited to continue learning!

Jason Davis grew up in West Virginia and feels lucky to have been a teenager in the 90s, immersed in shows like SNL, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, and Seinfeld. He actually loved Seinfeld so much he wanted to move to NYC, but instead ended up in Washington, DC and then Chicago, before moving to Tucson 11 years ago. He works as a science writer and has a master's in journalism from the U of A. He lives with his wife, daughter (5th grade), and a cat named Pepper.

Andrew Martin is a Tucson Native who went to the U of A for Engineering Management. I like playing soccer, biking, and I play a tiny bit of bass guitar. I have 2 large dogs, Trapper and Bean. And I'm looking forward to marrying my fiancé Caroline in New Jersey in the coming year
