This is our last weekend running our current schedule, we thank you for taking a chance with us these past 8 weeks as we waded back into live comedy.  We are working out what our May/June show schedule will look like, and it will feature a shake up.  Starting May 7th we are recommitting to Friday night shows.  The schedule will feature: The Jam at 6pm, The Soap Box at 7:30pm, and Stand Up Comedy at 9pm.  Our Saturday night schedule will continue the shows we are doing with duos and trios, and the eventual emergence of some of our long standing teams ala the Dating Scene or some of our Digital Teams transitioning to the stage.  Our show procedures have been working out well, and on Saturday night both shows were at capacity.  So get your seats early for this week, and next week we transition to the next level.

Improv Classes for Teens!  It has been awhile since we had teen classes at the theater, but we are excited to kick off the summer with this new offering.  Have a teen aged 13-17 at home who needs to get out of the house this summer, send them our way.  We brought in Clare Shelley to teach our Teen Improv 101 class which will be starting on Wednesday, May 26th and running from 10am-12noon.  Clare is a former teacher, and brings tons of energy to everything she does, so we know this will be a great experience for the teens of Tucson!

This weekend The Jam rolls on Friday night at 7:30pm with your host Timmy Budinger! We no longer require preregistration but we will cap admission at 16 people, and continue to enforce social distancing.  On Saturday we have even more performers rejoining us on the stage in the Improv Show at 7:30pm. Then Stand Up continues at 9pm on Saturday night.  Our COVID-19 Ticket and Entrance Policy is still in place. Get your tickets early online because these shows have been a hot ticket.

Synopsis

Based on the popular Disney Channel Original Movies, Disney's Descendants: The Musical is a brand-new musical comedy featuring beloved characters and hit songs from the movies! It is present-day, and in the kingdom of Auradon, all of Disney's beloved heroes and royalty are living happily ever after, safe from the terrifying villains and troublesome sidekicks they have banished to the magic-free Isle of the Lost. That is until Ben, the benevolent teenage son of Belle and King Adam (The Beast), offers a chance of redemption for the trouble-making offspring of the evilest villains. Mal, Evie, Jay, and Carolos--the children of Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Cruella De Vil, and Jara--are welcomed to Auradon Prep to attend school with the children of their parents' sworn enemies. Now entering a completely foreign world and way of life, the four Villain Kids have a difficult choice to make: should they follow in their parents' wicked footsteps or learn to be good?

Unscrewed Theater MAY WORKSHOPS & SHOWS!

From: Unscrewed Theater <UnscrewedTheater@gmail.com>
Sent: Wednesday, April 28, 2021 8:55 AM
Subject:  May Unscrewed News from Chris 🌵

I need to THANK YOU! for your overwhelming AZ Gives Day support. You've added almost $5,000 to our bank account that will help us SAFELY open up the doors to welcome you with a big hug. 🤗 Just as soon as we can.

That being said, 'What's up for May," you ask?
Well, a LOT!

Let's start with the shows. As we have every week since we temporarily closed our doors last year, we've got our Family Friendly Improv House Parties every Saturday night at 7:30 pm. (ALL the times we post for our shows and workshops are AZ time – MST. This time of year, that's the same as west coast time.)

And every week, we have a different GUEST STAR. You might catch us with a local celebrity, a former local player who's moved across the country (or the world), or some pretty darn famous folks. You just never know.

The ONLY way to know is to:
1.    Read our weekly email that comes out EVERY Thursday morning. (A big shout out to Cara Ammann, our MailChimp Goddess.)
2.    Look at our social media accounts! We're on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
3.    Just give me a call, dagnabbit!

Then, there are the UNCENSORED SHOWS, of course. They only happen twice a month at 9:30pm, so mark your calendar now for May. That's 5/8 and 5/22

Did you know that you can register for any of our shows any time you want? You CAN! Just go to our website and register. We'll send you an email reminder the night of the show with the link to your FREE evening of funny!

And if you want to get your weekend started off right, be sure to catch our very own Dawn with her "Ten Minutes with Dawn" every Friday morning at 10am. Ten minutes at Ten. See what we did there? It's exclusively on Facebook, right here
Ten Minutes with Dawn Add a bookmark, so you don't have to go lookin' every week.

And then there's our only show that's so special it's only once a month. Our Sunday SmashUp is the last Sunday of every month at 6:00pm. Unlike our other shows, this one is COMPLETELY unpredictable. Five different teams every month, and who knows what might happen?! And let me give you a word of warning. I give you NO guarantee of Family Friendly – despite the time frame. Go ahead and register for the 5/30 show and see for yourself
 Sunday SmashUp.

Speaking of strutting their stuff, we have a FREE online Student Showcase on Sunday, May 2nd, at 6pm. Team Mooz - the graduates of our most recent online Improv Basics class will show you what they've learned from their living rooms and bring a huge smile to your face! Get your link to watch
 Student Showcase.

Did I mention the WORKSHOPS yet?
Oh, my bad. We've got some great ones.

Starting on Friday, May 30th, we've got three Friday workshops lined up with the incomparable Liz Allen. We've worked with Liz before, and she's really something special. If you buy the complete set of workshops BEFORE FRIDAY, you can save $30. AND know that you'll have the best Friday nights ever for three weeks in a row! As of now, we have a few spots left. Details and info here
 Liz Allen Workshops

DO IT!

Want a workshop with a little less time commitment? One that will make you look like a SUPERSTAR the next time you're on a Zoom call or show? Join our very own Jon Benda & David Gunther on Saturday, 5/8 at 10am for our "ZoomCraft" workshop. Register here
 ZoomCraft

Or, how about this?

Practice (or learn!) the art of improv fun for yourself on Monday nights at 6:30 with Jon Benda and little 'ole me at our Improv Drop-In class. Novice or pro, near or far, everyone is welcome! It's all free for you and me, but donations are certainly accepted. Venmo, our website, or even in the mail! Register here
Improv Drop-In.

Think you're ready for a real improv class? Well, we are, too. We've got a new one starting in June, and we'll give you the details just as soon as we have 'em. Just read that weekly email & check our social media every week.
