Tucson Improv Movement halfway to Halloween

Subject: Yes and News - 4/27/23

This is Halloween, this is Halloween! Well not really, but we are halfway to Halloween and we are going to celebrate this week at the theater.  Our costume show is one of the most popular and fun of the year, and we don't need an excuse to do it again.  So Saturday night at 7:30 pm come out and celebrate as we don our finest Halloween apparel. Then you have one last opportunity to catch the Spoooooky Girls in our LOL & Order show at 9 pm.

On Friday night we are continuing our newest Stand Up Comedy Show with Headliner Rebecca Fox.  Each month we take one show and structure it to give Tucson's best comedians a spotlight to showcase their talent with a 25-minute set.  This curated show gives our stand up comedians a space to work out and run a long-form set, something that doesn't come up often in the Tucson Comedy Scene.  The first two shows this year were amazing, and it is so fun to get to see these longer sets! So get yourself out Friday night at 9 pm to catch Rebecca Fox!

We're going for it, 24+ hours of continual comedy.  We are bringing back the Improvathon June 2nd and 3rd.  The improv will start Friday at 6:30pm and won't end until Saturday at 10:30pm.  More details coming soon on our comedy marathon!

We also have an exciting opportunity for you, our best TIM fans from our partners at Arizona Arts Live with an discount to the show Dimache.

In the near future, humanity has failed to adapt to the new ecological reality. Watch as humans try to preserve their day-to-day habits, going to absurd extremes to keep up a sense of normalcy despite the chaos.  Between dreamlike fiction and factual reality, Dimanche paints a tender portrait of humanity. Using analogue FX, miniature vehicles, puppetry, video, and mime, Dimanche brings a planet on fire to life. Don't miss the end of the world as we know it--live from the safety of your seat at Tornabene Theater April 26th-29thTickets available here! Use offer code SUNDAY for 20% off.

LTW presents LUNGS

LUNGS

by Duncan Macmillan

May 11 - June 10, 2023

The audience becomes a voyeur in LUNGS as we watch a young couple wrestle between the impulsivity of young love and the inevitability of wanting stability and longevity. The couple’s craving for passion changes when they consider bringing a child into the world. This relationship shift, while timeless, is full of surprises when portrayed through the lens of a new generation. In LUNGS, Playwright Duncan Macmillan successfully puts his finger on the pulse of the cultural and personal questions that are informing our young community members, and he does so through empathetic, jarring, and hilarious exchanges.
Note: This show contains explicit language.

“...a bracingly dramatic walk through the thicket of couples communication... at once beguilingly modest and rewardingly polished...a smart and stimulating eavesdrop on the modern vocabulary of intimate negotiation.” - The Washington Post

Scoundrel and Scamp Theatre presents The Ugly Duckling

BUY TICKETS

The Ugly Duckling

ONE DAY ONLY ON SATURDAY, APRIL 29!

Red Herring Puppets has created an original musical version of the classic folktale!

A duckling is born who looks different than its siblings, and is deemed “ugly” as a result. The duckling is treated cruelly, and endures loneliness and hardship as it navigates the world. As this classic tale reminds us, though, real ugliness is not the duckling’s appearance, but in the mean and prejudiced behavior of others. His inner sweetness and determination are encouraged by an old woman, a cat, and a hen who help discover his true self.

Join us for this lively musical puppet journey in which an “ugly duckling”  finds the place where he belongs!

For Scoundrels and Scamps of all ages!
