Sketch is back BABY! One of the biggest requests we get on a regular basis is to host our sketch class at TIM.  I am so excited that the 101 class is going to be running again starting September 8th with the funniest guy I know Daniel Kirby!

We have been running Baby Fish Mouth our sketch show for over a year now and I am so proud of the work the team has been doing.  The sketches have been getting funnier and funnier and the design of the show is on point.  Every once an awhile there is a sketch that features glitter, but don't worry, that has been banned from future shows. ;)

The sketch class really delves into game of the scene, which is the crux of the TIM curriculum and central to our belief on where comedy comes from in the work we do.  Our improv philosophy to perform game based comedy, played quickly and supported fearlessly is put on center stage during the sketch class.

We don't get to offer this class as often as the other classes in our curriculum, so if you are interested, I recommend you grab a seat immediately.  We have already sold over half the class and I am sure the rest of those spaces will be gone in an instant!

The Game Show Show

The Game Show Show is Southern Arizona's only live and improvised game show.  It pits contestants against each other to win fabulous prizes* and they don't even need to spin a big wheel to get them!

This month we feature a law debate... A really serious law debate.  Haha just kidding but we do have two attorneys in the house!  Joel Feinman, is a local defense attorney versus Nick Knauer from the Arizona Attorney Generals office.  Will tort reform come up, probably, but we can guarantee some sweet laughs!

To start off the show, be prepared to get into musical mode with The Laugh Tracks!

*Prizes are not fabulous.

(The "secret" deemed by all great actors to produce organic behavior & spontaneity in performance). Master Teacher, Director, Author (Experiencing Stanislavsky Today) Philip G. Bennett, will share with you what he has found to be the most successful acting techniques from his 50 years of teaching the System. You will learn: Focus & Concentration through Yoga based Meditation; Psychophysical Conditioning Exercises that unite the mind and body and release spontaneous emotions; all 89 Elements of the Stanislavsky System based on Physical Action; Short and Long-Form Dramatic Improvisation tools (Etudes) used with ‘Active Analysis through Physical Actions,’ and applied to the interpretation of a text; Monologue & Scene Study...just to name a few. Winding Road Theater Ensemble presents: The Little Foxes

From: Winding Road Theater Ensemble <windingroadte@gmail.com>
Sent: Monday, August 26, 2019 1:29 PM
Subject: The Little Foxes opens this week!

Presents An American Classic!

First staged at the National Theatre in New York, this morality drama about corruption and greed within a wealthy, early 20th century family has been revived more than half a dozen times on Broadway since its premiere in 1939.

The most recent revival, produced in 2017 at New York's Samuel J. Friedman Theater, starred Laura Linney (Tales of the City, Ozark) and Cynthia Nixon (Sex and the City) alternating performances in the roles of Regina and Birdie. The production was met with much critical acclaim, receiving 6 Tony nominations and 3 Drama Desk Awards.

The Little Foxes has also been adapted for film (1941, starring Bette Davis, directed by William Wyler), radio (1941, Phillip Morris Playhouse), and even an opera (1949's Regina by Marc Blitzstein).

Winding Road's production of The Little Foxes is directed by Winding Road co-founder Glen Coffman and features an outstanding ensemble cast, including Denise Blum, David Davidson, Deborah Deebom, Damian Garcia, Karl Haas, Cynthia Jeffrey, David Johnston, Eric Rau, Morgan Smith, and Richard Thompson.

Evening and matinee performances begin with a preview show Thursday August 29, 2019, followed by a three weekend run (Fridays thru Sundays). All performances will be performed on the main stage at the Scoundrel and Scamp Theatre located at the Historic Y,  738 N 5th Ave just south of University.
