Also auditioning supporting cast members.… They undergo intensive training to gain insight into the pressures affecting their addiction and recovery, help create a script, and then take the stage to reveal the progression of the disease, the impact on family members and the challenges of recovery.
… The C.A.S.T. performs at high schools, middle schools, elementary schools, treatment centers, and conferences, educating young people, families, and the professionals that serve them, on issues regarding drug and alcohol use and addictive disease.
… Cast members rehearse 8-20 hours/week throughout the year.
… Cast members perform 1-3 shows per week during the school year, beginning in Fall.

The Bloody Unicorn Theater Company will present LESBIAN SHORTS II, their
second annual festival of lesbian-themed original one-act plays, this
September at the Temple of Music and Art.
This year's shows include "What If I Don't", by Rebekah Lopata, "Paris", by
Lyralen Kaye, "Save", by Adam Szymkowicz, "A Lover's Quarrel, A Parent/Child
Conflict, And A High Speed Car Chase All Neatly Resolved In Under Fifteen
Minutes (Just Like In Real Life)", by Matthew Hanson, and "Lemonade", by
Ginger Lazarus. There will also be performances by Midriff Crisis, Tucson's
leading tribal bellydance troupe.
The festival runs from September 2 through September 11 at the Cabaret
Theater of the Temple of Music and Art, 330 S. Scott Ave. in Tucson.
The shows will be presented Fridays at 7:30 PM, and Saturdays and Sundays at
both 2:30 PM and 7:30 PM, and all plays will be presented at each
performance.

Sure you've been to a haunted house, but can you imagine the frightening
possibilities of the Haunted Corn Field? The Buckelew Farm Pumpkin
Festival and Corn Maze (see attached photo), located 22 miles west of
Tucson in Three Points, has been a staple of local Halloween activities for
about 15 years, including the "The Haunted Corn Field." Be a part of this
scary holiday tradition, if you dare.
About ten people will be needed as actors and technical help for the last
three Fridays and Saturdays in October. They will be paid $75 per night.
One or two rehearsal nights may be required.

The story:
A lady corporate drone needs R&R.
Her confidant, the philosophical cafeteria dude downstairs has never been
west of Birgmingham.
Her photo snapping friend from the in-town cafe is road tripping to L.A.
soon to visit his cousin.
The problem: he's having the damdest time trying to find money for gas. So
they all decide to ride together, plus post ride space for rent on the
internet to offset costs.
When they hit the road, they're just picking up people who responded to the
post, plus a few "hitchikers." When the cast says, "So, what's taking you
west?" All kinds of hell breaks loose.

1) The Ultra-Smart Beatnic, Level 1
He sounds like that guy in the closet from the 80s movie "Real Genius," but
THIS guy is on the run from the Feds for appearing on two game shows in the
same year (yes that's a real crime).
Line: "There's no database for it, so I just died my hair and told 'em a
different name. I don't care. I'm flying to France so they can't touch me."
2) The Really Kinky Old Chick (a woman doing Dave Chappelle's Rick James)
who likes young guys.
Level 2
3) The Ethnocentric Asian Guy (think Black Power from an Asian perspective)
who is going to Hollywood to give the execs a piece of his mind about
casting Asians stereotypically.
He picks up in Texas or Arizona.

Improv Roles-- 2 levels
1) not really going all the way to L.A. (or Atlanta on the return end), but
will ride for a while
2) only there for a couple of exits
For most of the extra characters, we're giving the actors free reign. If
you're a rider pissed about politics, get in and start ranting.
If you can be "Jack Nicholson bumming a ride,"
that's cool.

Be a part of Nick Buckelew's Annual Three Points Haunted Cornfield
Sure you've been to a haunted house, but can you imagine the frightening possibilities of the Haunted Corn Field? The Buckelew Farm Pumpkin Festival and Corn Maze (see photo), located 22 miles west of Tucson in Three Points, has been a staple of local Halloween activities for about 15 years, including the "The Haunted Corn Field." Be a part of this scary holiday tradition, if you dare.
About ten people will be needed as actors and technical help for the last three Fridays and Saturdays in October. They will be paid $75 per night.
One or two rehearsal nights may be required.

Dance Center in NYC. Ms. Bluemer has a B.A. in Writing, Performing and
Directing for the Stage from the University of Massachusetts/Amherst,
and currently works at Arizona Theatre Company.
Other terms of enrollment:

The Independent Film Association of Southern Arizona (IFASA) announces its
annual Three-Minute Thriller contest and event. Filmmakers are invited to
produce and submit a Halloween short, no longer than three and a half
minutes in one of the following categories:
1. Thriller/horror
2. Sci-fi/fantasy
3. Comedy/spoof horror
4. Experimental
5. Youth production
Rules
1. Films must be no more than three and a half minutes, including an half
minute of credits.
2. Films need to be shot between the dates of January 1 and October 22,
2005. DEADLINE: Films must be received by October 22, 2005.
3. The entry fee is still only $13.
4. Films can be shot on any format, but must be submitted on ½ inch VHS,
mini DV, or DVD. Films will be screened on VHS.
Entries will be screened at IFASA's Halloween event on October 29, 2005 at
The Loft Cinema, where winners will be announced. (Prizes to be
determined.)
Entries MUST include the following:
1. A completed copy of the entry form and a signed release.
2. ½" VHS tape, Mini DV, or DVD of the movie 3. Synopsis: one or two
sentence description of the film.
4. Credits: a complete principle cast and crew list.
5. Entry fee: Make $13 check payable to: Independent Film Association of

TUCSON TEEN COUNTS ON LOCAL SUPPORT AS SHE HEADS TO AMERICAN IDOL-SEASON 5
August 1, 2005-Tucson, Arizona Tucson teen, TORAH, heads off to San
Francisco in August to audition for the popular Fox show, American Idol.
You've probably seen her perform the National Anthem at various sporting
venues around town. You may have seen her at a fair or festival performing
as Pammy K with her group Wild Angel or singing and dancing with Kids
Unlimited, Protege or Belle Milage. Even if you haven't heard of her YET,
you can count on hearing about her soon. Torah fans are organizing a
gathering at the audition, complete with signs, banners and t-shirts to make
sure their 2005 TUCSON IDOL (not affiliated with Fox)gets through the first
round of competition. TorahNATORS, as they are called, plan to enlist
support for Torah and see that she domiNATES the competition.
The TorahNATORS are counting on help from Tucson locals to come support
Torah. They have put out a call to arms for fans to show up at 6:00 AM on
August 18th at Cow Palace in San Francisco to cheer on their girl. Fan
coordinators will be on scene to ensure fans do not interfere with the
audition process or get hung up in lines. Torah signs and t-shirt transfers
are available for download from her website http://torah-idol.com . A small
quantity may be available at the audition.

by signing the guest book or forum and remember to tune in to Fox in January
of 2006 and hopefully see your own TUCSON IDOL, Torah, take the stage.
