DJ in Onederland is a modern musical about the pains of growing up. An original production written and directed by Gretchen Wirges with original music by Michael Martinez, Richard Gremel, and David Ragland, DJ In Onederland stars Eduardo Rodriguez, Myron Crowe, Kyleigh Sacco, Luis Inzunza, and Frankie Gelb.

DJ In Onederland runs from August 13th to the 28th, 2022. Saturdays at 5:00pm and Sundays at 1:00pm. Tickets are $10 for children, $12 for adults.

Shooting Star

by Steven Dietz

on the Mainstage

August 4th to September 3rd

"We humans love stories. And every once in a while, if you're lucky, you see a story that stands out from all the others. Steven Dietz's SHOOTING STAR is one of those stories. There are plenty of laughs in Dietz's humorous tale, but at every important moment, every emotional high, every startling revelation, the theatre grows utterly silent. Stories told this well don't come around very often." - Austin Chronicle

Snowed in overnight at a middle-America airport, college lovers Elena and Reed have an unexpected and life-altering reunion. Elena has stayed true to her hippie-ish, counter-culture path, while Reed has gone predictably corporate and conservative. As the night gives way to laughter, banter, remembrance and alcohol, Elena and Reed revisit a past that holds more surprises than they imagined—and a present that neither of them could have predicted. Filled with laughter and ache, SHOOTING STAR is a bittersweet romantic comedy about the middle days of our lives, and how we got there.

Shooting Star is directed by Samantha Cormier and stars Shanna Brock as Elena and Stephen Frankenfield as Reed. The show runs Thursdays, Fridays, & Saturdays at 7:30pm, Sundays at 3:00pm, with a special Saturday matinee on September 3rd at 3:00pm.

$23 General, $21 for Military, Seniors & Students, $17 for Thursdays and Previews

Improv without an audience is like. . . . . . well, it's like an ice cream sundae without the toppings, TV without sound, or tennis shoes without laces. It's OK, but SO MUCH BETTER WHEN ALL THE PIECES ARE THERE!

Every show is different because every audience is different, and we rely on your suggestions to make the funny happen.

A low pressure system has settled to our east, which will keep bringing monsoon moisture into your region firing up nightly storms, and it looks like it's kept The Dirty Tees settled right over our theater. That's right while watermelon Eegees might be leaving us the Dirty Tees are not!  You can catch them all August long in the 9pm time slot on Saturday nights.  And this weekend you have two chances to experience a microburst of laughter, Thursday at 8:30pm and Saturday at 9pm! Do you like it hot, do you like it wet from monsoons, are you in Tucson during the summer?!?  If so, this comedy show is for you!

This past weekend at the theater was so fun!  We again had over 100 people attend shows this weekend, and every show was at or near capacity!  I recommend you start grabbing a ticket online so you make sure you have a seat.  It is our goal to bring you the best improv comedy in an intimate theater environment, but that does limit how many people we can get in the seats.  We have a great line up this weekend, and want to make sure you are there!  Thursday night at 7:30pm features a potpourri of our Indie teams.  Friday night the Jam is back at 6:30pm, then the Soapbox welcomes Jamie Maslyn Larson to tell stories at 7:30pm, and a hot stand up line up at 9pm!  Saturday is Set Unlisted at 7:30pm and a second showing of the Dirty Tees at 9pm!  Tucson it is an honor to laugh with you!

Fun Home Open Saturday August 6th!

Winner of five 2015 Tony Awards including Best Musical, Fun Home is a refreshingly honest, wholly original musical about seeing your parents through grown-up eyes. When her father dies unexpectedly, graphic novelist Alison Bechdel dives deep into her past to tell the story of the volatile, brilliant, one-of-a-kind man whose temperament and secrets defined her family and her life. Moving between past and present, Alison relives her unique childhood playing at the Bechdel Funeral Home, her growing understanding of her own sexuality, and the looming, unanswerable questions about her father's hidden desires.
