A sunny room on an upper floor is prime real estate in the Bristol Place Senior Living Facility, so when the cantankerous Abby is forced to share her quarters with new arrival Marilyn, she has no choice but to get rid of the infuriatingly chipper woman by any means necessary.

 

A seemingly harmless bet between the old women quickly escalates into a dangerous game of one-upmanship that reveals not just the tenacity of these worthy opponents, but also deeper truths that each would rather remain hidden.

UA School of Dance is looking for a skilled stitcher to help with sewing work the next few weeks as an independent contractor. 

 

Ideally looking for someone with experience with: full garment construction on sewing machines and using a serger. Preferably has experience with theatre and/or dance costumes.  

 

This is an over-hire independent contractor position (NOT UA employee). Pay will be hourly rate based on experience.  Applicants must not already be a UA employee or student (that's the university requirement for hiring independent contractors). 

 

Any skilled help we can get is welcomed—even if you just have a few extra hours a week. It's preferable you're able to come into the costume shop on a weekday(s) to work, but we can send things home with you if you only have time evenings/weekends and have the skills to work on your own and a sewing machine at home.

Already have your tickets? 

Here are some important things to know:

 

 

 

• The Fox Tucson Theatre's previously established Covid-19 restrictions have currently been lifted due to our low Community Level (https://webcms.pima.gov/cms/One.aspx?pageId=568644), so you do not need to show proof of vaccination to enter, and masks are optional.
• Due to delays by the printer of our tickets, our Ballet Tucson staff members will be checking all patrons in by name upon entry. This applies to our Season Subscribers and to those who have purchased tickets through Eventbrite. We apologize for this inconvenience created by our ticket vendor and we are working to make entry as smooth as possible for you, our valued patrons. When you arrive please visit our check-in table located inside the theater and simply share your name with our staff members.
• Season Subscribers: To edit your check-in name or for assistance with other ticket-related inquiries, please contact our new Company Manager Taylor Carlson at operations@ballettucson.org
• Clear bags are not required at the Fox Tucson Theatre, however, any bags larger than 14' x14', backpacks or luggage pieces are not permitted. Clear bags will be required at the remainder of our season performances, as per Tucson Convention Center policy (http://tucsonconventioncenter.com/about/attending-an-event/).
• Our Season Subscribers will receive a special Ballet Tucson clear bag for use at future TCC performances when they arrive at Footprints at the Fox. If you are unable to attend this Friday, our staff will make other arrangements with you to ensure that you receive your bag prior to our Fall Concert. Please contact our new Company Manager Taylor Carlson at operations@ballettucson.org for assistance.
• Downtown Tucson Partnership highly recommends parking in the La Placita Parking Garage (https://laplacitagarage.com/) located on Stone Ave. between Ochoa St. and Jackson St. to avoid parking issues caused by Tucson Meet Yourself events. We will be opening our doors at 6:00pm and encourage attendees to arrive early.
• The Fox Theatre will provide beverages and snacks in the lobby. ID is required for the purchase of alcohol.
• Security checks are required before entry. The Fox Tucson Theatre is committed to providing a safe and secure environment for our guests and visiting artists. Patrons should be prepared to undergo a security screening. These protective measures have been put in place to ensure that each performance occurs in the safest environment possible. When Juana stumbles into the world of the dead in search of her beloved pet turtle, she comes face to face with Mictecacihuatl, her hilarious sidekick Grito, and some of her grumpiest ancestros. Juana learns to face her greatest fears and that not everything is always what it seems to be. The whole audience is invited to help Juana on her journey between the world of the dead and the world of the living.

Each play is rehearsed by a group of actors for about 12 hours and performed with scripts in hand.
