The Life of the Party/Tucson Clowns is hiring both male and female actors for costumed character gigs.

This pays $50 for an hour and I provide the costumes. You need to interact with the birthday child as the character, take pictures and pose

I am booking for an event right now on 9/13 from 430 – 5:30 PM in Tucson. I need a slender male or female to do Boba Fett at a kids party along joining another actor at the party doing Darth Vader. So it should be a fun gig.

Please reach out ASAP Via email or phone. If you are sending an email, it would be helpful if you could send me a résumé and headshot if possible.

Please send them to: tucsonclowns@gmail.com, and call Janet at 520-247-3103

"Ballet has been around for so long and it's still around is because of innovation. The reason we're still able to showcase the classics and our history is because it's still so alive; we're not trying to speak a dead language. Every time a new work is created, it's keeping the heartbeat of the art form going and bringing in a brand new audience." - Brooke Amundrud, Corps de Ballet dancer and 2025 Steps Forward choreographer

Brooke Amundrud is entering her fourth season as a dancer with Ballet Tucson, and she is also passionate about choreography. She has created a new work for our annual choreographer's showcase (now called Steps Forward) for the past three years, and has placed in the audience selected top three each time, winning in 2022 and 2024. Hear more about her creative process and what our Steps Forward program means to her in this special video (click the link above to watch).

Loved by our artists and audiences alike, Steps Forward is a choreographers' showcase that features eight new works, created by our Ballet Tucson company members for their fellow dancers. At the end of this one-night-only collection of premieres, audience members have the opportunity to vote for their favorite, which will receive an encore presentation on the Ballet Tucson mainstage later in the season. This program offers vital career development and transition support for our dancers, allowing them to explore their creativity and their artistic potential as a choreographer.

Differently Abled Entertainment Presents: August Strindberg’s THE FATHER

From: Jonni Campbell <jonni@ourdae.org>
Sent: Monday, September 1, 2025 8:36 PM
Subject: Press Release: Strindberg's THE FATHER Comes to Tucson This October

Differently Abled Entertainment Presents: August Strindberg's THE FATHER
A Family Torn by Power and Doubt

Differently Abled Entertainment (DAE) is proud to bring to the stage August Strindberg's explosive masterpiece THE FATHER. This gripping psychological drama, first performed in 1887, explores the clash of love, loyalty, and control within a family consumed by mistrust and power struggles.

Banned in several countries for more than two decades due to its controversial themes of marriage, gender roles, and authority, THE FATHER is considered one of Strindberg's most provocative and enduring works. Its raw honesty and emotional intensity continue to resonate more than a century later, sparking conversations that remain just as relevant today.

Audiences can expect not only a moving theatrical experience but also a chance to engage with the material on a deeper level: each performance will be followed by a special audience Q&A with the cast and director.

About the Play

When THE FATHER debuted in the late 19th century, its stark depiction of domestic conflict shook audiences and challenged traditional notions of marriage and authority. Many theaters refused to stage it, and the play was banned outright in some countries for more than 20 years. Today, it is regarded as a groundbreaking work of modern drama, often compared to Ibsen's A Doll's House for its bold confrontation of social norms.
