Dear Tucson Actors and Performers,

There is a great way to use your talents in service to your community. Join BookPALS!

BookPALS www.bookpals.net  (Performing Artists for Literacy in Schools) is a national literacy program sponsored by the Screen Actors Guild Foundation. But you don't have to be union to participate.

Our readers go into under-served classrooms on a weekly basis to read aloud to classes of children.  It takes just an hour a week to read to two classes and you will make a huge impact on these children who may have no one at home to read to them.

We don't teach kids to read; we teach them to LOVE reading.

Training and book lists are provided. You will have the most appreciative audiences ever!
