ARIZONA ARTS LIVE PRESENTS
The 4th Witch
by Manual Cinema
Halloween Afternoon • Saturday, October 31, 2026
• 2:00 PM • Centennial Hall
A wordless shadow-puppetry
spectacle with a live musical score, inspired by Shakespeare’s Macbeth —
and a family-friendly Costume Contest beforehand.
About the Show
Emmy Award-winning Manual Cinema brings one
of the most unusual experiences to cross the Centennial Hall stage. The 4th
Witch is a stunning new tale that begins at the edge of war. When a
warlord’s army invades her town, a young girl is orphaned and escapes into a
dark forest, where a witch trains her. Years later, she seeks revenge against
the man responsible.
Told without words through shadow puppetry,
live-performed music and cinematic projection, the work blurs the boundary
between stage and screen — and it all unfolds right before your eyes. At its
heart are grief, war, and the lasting cycles of violence.
“This Chicago troupe is conjuring phantasms to die for.”
— The New York Times
