On Sunday December 11 at 8:00 AM (yes, that's in the morning) we are shooting the bar scenes in a feature length film at The Buffet Bar (538 East 9th Street) -- Tucson's Oldest Bar -- that was prominently featured in a "recent" edition of Esquire Magazine. 

We need actors to play bartenders, waitresses, pool players, and "beer drinkers". There are a couple of small speaking roles to be had and we need more than a handful of extras. We are looking for both men and women -- all ages over 21. For the Buffet Bar you dress how you want, not how anyone else wants. Park your motorcycle in the back.

No monetary compensation, but title and a copy of the DVD.

Experience the magic of Christmas as Arts Express presents Follow the Star, a dramatic re-enactment of the Christmas Story told through music, drama, and creative dance. Volunteer to help with the planning of activities, outreach, and other fun and creative aspects of festival-making. For your convenience, evening and lunch times are available:

Practice creative ways to wrap gifts
and finalize logistics for the event.

 

 

SIGN UP TO GIFT WRAP

Available shifts for Dec. 9-11:

• 10am-12pm

• 12pm-3pm

• 3pm-6pm

ITEMS REQUESTED FOR GIFT WRAPPING:

Drop off any time on Tuesday Dec. 6 or Thursday Dec. 8 @ 10am-6pm

•  Wrapping paper (solid colors, patterns, Xmas/Hanukah/Kwanzaa/B-Day)
•  Butcher paper / end rolls of newspaper production (for stuffing/wrapping)

•  Boxes (many shapes/sizes)

•  Gift bags (for small/medium/large light weight items)

•  Tissue paper (various colors)

•  Bows (various sizes/colors)

•  Ribbons (various thickness/colors)

•  String / yarn

•  Fabric (various, shiny, see-through, etc.)

•  Gift tags / cards / envelopes

•  Scotch tape / double-stick tape

•  Clear packing tape

•  Blue light tack tape (tape orders to gifts)

•  Staplers (make bows from ribbons)

•  Staples

•  Scissors

•  Glue (just in case)

•  Pens

•  Markers (for cards or quick draw on wrapping paper)

•  Doubled raffle ticket roll (to write contact info on orders)

•  Sticker paper (print out "Tucson Arts Brigade" mini stickers)

•  Any other gift wrapping material ideas and fancy extras... (doilies, mini-bells, tassels, charms, gem stickers, origami, mini-Xmas tree bulbs, small stuffed animals, fake flowers, dried natural items like mesquite pods, etc.)

Join the cast of Crossing Elliot. This urbane romantic-comedy follows the long distance relationship between Rikki, a successful woman ready to settle down and her boyfriend Elliot, an on-the-rise novelist eager to keep his freedom.

Looking For:

Rikki: A quirky young journalist from New York City. She is a cerebral and cultured woman in her late twenties that is looking for a sense of normalcy and security in her relationship.

Sophie: Rikki's highly opinionated older sister. Sophie, also a New Yorker, values the finer things in life. She is married to a man who is married to his work, leaving her bitter in raising their son alone.
