THE OPPORTUNITY
Pima Community College Theatre is seeking a Lighting Designer for its fall production of Frankenstein, opening Wednesday, October 21, 2026, in the Black Box Theatre at the Center for the Arts on Pima's West Campus. This is a paid design position with a stipend of approximately $1,100.
THE VENUE
The Black Box Theatre is part of the Center for the Arts complex at Pima's West Campus (2202 W. Anklam Rd., Tucson). The space features a hardwood floor painted black and is fully equipped with manual and computerized lighting control (96 dimmers), plus sound control from the booth — a flexible, well-appointed room suited to atmospheric, design-driven work like Frankenstein.
ABOUT PIMA THEATRE
Pima Theatre presents four productions each season through the college's Theatre Arts program, housed in the Center for the Arts at West Campus. The season typically includes a family-friendly show, a fully staged American musical with pit orchestra, and contemporary and/or classic drama or comedy — giving designers the chance to work alongside Pima's students and faculty on a well-supported production.
