On July 15, 22, and 29 ten director's will present the ten scenes of Arthur Schnitzler's La Ronde at The Screening Room.

After 10 years of serving as Tucson's professional contemporary dance company, the artistic and administrative staff in collaboration with the Board of Directors has made the decision to dissolve Artifact Dance Project.  Founding Artistic Directors Ashley Bowman and Claire Hancock are fulfilled by their time as creative partners and, with thoughtfulness, are bringing Artifact Dance Project to closure after completion of the 2018/2019 season. We are incredibly grateful to our patrons, audience members, volunteers, and collaborators for over a decade of support.  Artifact established a reputation for bringing people together to produce innovative works with dance at the center.  You, our patrons and audience members, have made this possible.  Without our community's support, arts organizations such as Artifact would not exist. This summer we're inviting artists, performers, poets, dancers, writers, musicians to pair up and create original works that blend their two forms together.

Turn of the century American popular songs are performed live as part of the Tucson Desert Song Festival's commemoration of American music.  Mark Schneider serves up a delightful new work presented in period costumes and grand style.

Concerto Barocco (Ballet Tucson premiere)
Choreography:  George Balanchine
Concerto Barocco is the dance visualization of Johann Sebastian Bach's Concerto in D minor for Two Violins.  As relevant today as it was on the debut program of New York City Ballet in 1948, Ballet Tucson dances this newest Balanchine acquisition with verve and panache.

Choreography:  Daniel Precup
Back by popular request – the company's Ballet Master Daniel Precup stages his dynamic dance interpretation of the legend of Castor and Pollux and the formation of the constellation Gemini.

Stephen Frankenfield and Steve Wood kick off the new Live Theatre Workshop MainStage season with THINGS BEING WHAT THEY ARE, written by Wendy McLeod and directed by Samantha Cormier. The new season includes eight shows selected by LTW Artistic Director Sabian Trout and one show that is also part of the Family Series of LTW shows. Season ticket packages and individual tickets are now on sale.

In THINGS BEING WHAT THEY ARE, up-and-coming Bill (Steve Wood) is setting up a new condo for himself and his soon-to-arrive wife when he gets an unexpected visit from Jack (Stephen Frankenfield), who at first appears to be a nightmare neighbor. What follows is a sharp comedy about the lives we dream of having versus the lives we end up living. 

"Wendy McLeod writes plays that are funny without being cliché. While an 'odd couple' theme is far from new, THINGS BEING WHAT THEY ARE is different in that it's composed with a great degree of refinement, social grace and intellect. It strikes a perfect balance between laugh-out-loud humor and thought-provoking quips. I would also speculate Ms. McLeod is commenting on the unacceptability of stereotype and unconscious bias toward any human being, which includes white males," say LTW Artistic Director Sabian Trout.
