These guys really thrilled the crowd.

The Unknown Stuntmen, Arizona's most exciting and experienced Stunt Team,
debuted last weekend at the outdoor venue at Curves on Oracle road. They
threw punches, shot holes in each other, flew through the air on suspension
wires, did high falls, and blew each other up; live fire, of course. And
they did it for six hours, outside, in 108 degree heat. The former head dogs
at Old Tucson and Rawhide in Phoenix are centerpieces of this eight person
team.

Movies, TV, Public Appearances. This group has logged thousands of very
exciting hours. And they know how to do it without mishaps. That's how you
log thousands of hours.

Greg DeBenedetti, Rob Jensen, Preston Gamblin and the others, are available

I am an independent filmmaker, my mission is to produce films that inspire, give hope, or raise human consciousness.

Films have always had a great impact on our society. At their best, films have the power to inspire, empower, enlighten, uplift, challenge, and create change by reflecting the condition of our society and illuminating the issues of our times. We need more of these kinds of meaningful films.

Filmmaking is a business. The cost of making and promoting films has skyrocketed, so studios need blockbusters to break even. The common misconception is that the only way to make money is to produce big, event movies, make remake current blockbusters, or to market movies to a younger mind-set. As a result, we have movies that are more about special effects, gross-out humor, and violent than artful story telling.

Recent advances in digital recording have lowered the production costs and increased the quality of the medium of feature filmmaking. In addition, the Internet has provided independent filmmakers with a distribution channel, which had not before existed.

I am currently in preproduction, production begins on September 9, 2005 in Tucson AZ. Shooting will also take place in Baja, Mexico and Sedona, AZ.

Female must be between 30 and 45 years old and at least 5'4" tall. No nudity or violence.

Detective Ronaldo (mystery man): 6 foot, thick mustached (Spanish) Detective who is tracking Ferdinand’s activities. Acts like a disgruntled Peter Sellers (Pink Panther) meets the Italian interrogator from “Mister Ripley”.

Improve your flexibility while strengthening and toning all muscle groups.

 

Acrobatics/Tumbling

A 90 Minute open-level class for beginners through advanced ages 13+.  A 1/2 hour warm-up of battements, developes, simple and complex back arching moves, strength building, exercises and individual stretching techniques, followed by mat and floor work to include (but not limited to): rolls, handstands, cartwheels, backbends, front and back limbers & walkovers, tinsicas, front & back handsprings and aerial movements such as aerial cartwheels ("no-handed cartwheels") and somersaults.

Bevan Bluemer, owner and director of Arizona Acrobatics, began studying Acrobatics in 1990, in Holyoke, Massachusetts. In 1993, she began instructing this dance form, as well as choreographing routines for National Competitions. She has studied with various Acrobatics experts including Chuck Kelly at the Broadway Dance Center in NYC. Ms. Bluemer has a B.A. in Writing, Performing and Directing for the Stage from the University of Massachusetts/Amherst, and currently works at Arizona Theatre Company, and is a finalist in Tucson Business Edge's 40 Under 40.

Other terms of enrollment:

Enroll at anytime for a prorated fee of $13/class. Participate on a "drop-in" basis for $15/class.

The play is a serious of hilarious episodes in which the con and his wife try to help Renfro regain his memory so they can employ his talents to strike it rich!

GLBT Play Festival seeks submissions from Southwestern playwrights

Stark Naked Productions is seeking scripts for their First Words Festival of GLBT plays by Southwestern playwrights to be produced, with royalties, in Tucson Arizona in the Spring of 2006.  Plays may be of any length, and can have been previously performed, but must be unpublished.  No musicals or screenplays please.  We are looking for plays with GLBT characters and themes, with a preference for plays focusing on “family life.”

Submissions must be postmarked by October 31, 2005 to be eligible.   Playwrights must be currently residing in Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico or Utah to be eligible to submit.  Each playwright may only submit ONE play.

Tucson/ Beowulf Alley Theatre Company's new downtown theatre is open

Four years in the making, Beowulf Alley Theatre Company has opened its new stage at 6th and Congress in downtown Tucson.  Comfortable seating (refreshments allowed), clear sightlines, an excellent sound and lighting system, and a large, functional stage are cornerstones of the new theatre. 

 

The debut production in the new space is:

 

The Death of Zukasky
7:30 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays; 1:30 p.m., Sundays through Aug. 14; (no performances July 19-31)

It is a woderful comedy/satire about office politics and is a must see! 

 

James Reel of the Tucson Weekly said of the production, "Stephen Elton directed the action with easy naturalism and brought a similar quality to his portrayal of Barry", Steve McKee is "especially good in the play's best scene", and Carrie Hill "effortlessly blossom[ed] as the central figure in what is on the surface an ensemble play".  You can read the full review at
