Plot:
Bruce Bieszki plays Mel, a well paid executive of a company which has hit the skids and started to pare the payroll. Mel, too, gets the ax. His wife [Maria Fletcher] takes a job to tide them over, then she too is sacked. As if this weren't enough, Mel is fighting a losing battle with the very environs of life. Mel does the only thing left for him to do; he has a nervous breakdown. It is on recovery that we come to esteem him all the more. For Mel and his wife and people like them have the resilience, the grit to survive.

Big, bright and brassy musical brings "Steam Heat" to the stage
Arizona Theatre Company gets bright and brassy, sexy and sassy with the addition of a brand new revival of the classic Broadway musical The Pajama Game to its 2007-2008 season. The Pajama Game will be directed by ATC Artistic Director David Ira Goldstein, who has directed many of ATC’s biggest musical hits, along with the same creative team that delighted audiences with ATC’s previous sold-out hits My Fair Lady and The Pirates of Penzance. Running November 24 through December 15, 2007 in Tucson and December 31, 2007 through January 20, 2008 in Phoenix, The Pajama Game is underwritten by Bette and Gerry Zatuchni and SRP.�
In The Pajama Game, there’s unrest at the Sleep Tite pajama factory when Sid and Babe sit on opposite sides of the negotiating table clashing over a seven-and-a-half cent raise. But love threatens to shut down the plant as the battle of the sexes plays out in this rollicking classic of the Golden Age of musical comedy. The Pajama Game is a hit parade of irresistible songs including “Steam Heat,” “Hernando’s Hideaway” and “Hey There (You with the Stars in Your Eyes).” The Pajama Game, written by George Abbott and Richard Bissell with music and lyrics by Jerry Ross and Richard Adler, is a rambunctious pillow fight full of jazzy songs, hot dance and exuberant laughter.�

Making its Arizona Premiere and final pre-Off Broadway engagement, Arizona Onstage Productions (THE FULL MONTY, TALK OF THE TOWN, ELEGIES, RUTHLESS!, FALSETTOLAND, ASSASSINS) presents the heartwarming, funny and touching musical journey of six dogs on their way to their destiny – whether it be the pound, a shelter, rich owners, or doggie heaven. Through song and story, the audience is exposed to the tenderness, aggression, and frustration of these beings as they share personal stories of past and present, owners and friends, and their desire to be loved and part of a family. Local adoption and rescue agencies are encouraged to participate in each performance, having dogs available in the lobby in hopes of finding new and loving homes. The show is sung entirely by dogs – played by humans, of course. The loosely connected songs, by composer David Troy Francis, are performed entirely from a dog’s point of view, which might sound unbearably cutesy. However it is surprisingly funny and poignant, tender and sassy, lyrical and quite upbeat. The Los Angeles production ran for over two years to sold-out audiences. There have also been successful productions in Chicago, Memphis, Portland, Palm Springs, and other cities. All opened to rave reviews and extensions.
The score is a happy mélange of blues, salsa, country and straight torch songs. Oh yes, and rap, not to mention rock ‘n roll, jazz and old standards. The lyrics by Gavin Geoffrey Dillard and Robert Schrock are richly varied. A tribute to loyalty, unconditional love and all other doglike attributes, “BARK!” resonates - whether you are a dog lover or not. Family-friendly and energetic, these dogs will add a dash of excitement to your summer entertainment options. “Two Paws Up!” said the National head of the Humane Society.

Building upon the success of ART's first two productions in Neil Simon's acclaimed autobiographical trilogy, Brighton Beach Memoirs and Biloxi Blues, we present the much-anticipated final installment. In Broadway Bound, winner of the 1987 Tony Award for Best Play, Eugene Jerome and his brother Stanley pair up to write a comedy sketch for CBS. Inspiration is hard to come by, and they use their dysfunctional family as a model. But when feelings get hurt and family secrets come out, they discover harsh truths about who they are and learn lessons about love, forgiveness, and hope while pursuing their dream to reach New York.
Broadway Bound reunites the same cast members from Brighton Beach Memoirs and Biloxi Blues, notably School of Theatre Arts graduate J. Michael Trautmann as Neil Simon’s alter ego Eugene Morris Jerome and local actors Carlisle Ellis and Dwayne Palmer as his parents. “It is extremely unusual to be able to keep an entire acting company together in order to do this trilogy over the course of three years,” says director Brent Gibbs. “This represents a unique opportunity for our patrons to watch this entire family go through the trial, tribulations and triumphs that are a part of growing up and finally apart. It is funny, poignant and bittersweet – rather like the relationships within our own families.”

Good Faith Casting
Greetings!
I am excited to be able to offer you an opportunity to train with me in a
series of workshops designed for actors who desire to audition better and
book more jobs. In the past when I have offered these workshops, they have
filled very quickly, so please contact our office right away if you are
interested. Workshops are kept very small so that you get a lot of
one-on-one feedback and camera time. Therefore, space IS limited to just 12
students.
Workshops Available
Auditioning for Film Workshop -- Saturday, June 9th, 10 AM to 7 PM. Workshop
will be held at our Phx office. Fee is $200 -- No matter how many film
classes you have taken, or books you may have read, it won't help you get
parts in movies if you don't know how to audition for film! You will never
get the chance to strut your stuff on set or use what you have learned in
other classes, if you don't first get the part. Auditions are the gateways
to your dreams and the process is often overlooked in training. As a casting
director, I have seen many capable actors who didn't get the part only
because they didn't present the producers with a strong audition.
Auditioning for film has its own set of rules and skills that vary
significantly from what you do get on the set. The trick to landing a part
in a film, is KNOWING this stuff. Auditioning actors is what I do all day
long. I see what works and what doesn't. I watch in sadness as I see great
actors sabotage their chances of success. I have taken mental notes and
decided it is time to share this information with the people who matter most
- THE ACTORS! If you want to train to "get the parts" then this workshop is
a MUST. You will learn valuable skills, knowledge, and tricks of the trade
that only the pros know, and who better to teach that than a casting
director who makes it all happen. It doesn't matter if you are a beginner or
experienced, I guarantee you will learn things you have never been taught in
other classes and you will audition better for knowing it. With lots of time
on camera, and individual feedback, you can't afford to miss this intensive
one-day workshop. The fee includes a comprehensive workbook for you to take
home with you. Ages 18 and older.
Commercial Auditioning Workshop - Saturday, June 30th, 10 AM to 7 PM.
Includes free workbook and pizza lunch. Workshop will be held at our Phx
office. Fee is $200 -- Commercial acting is the bread and butter work for
actors in this market, yet few actors seem to know how to audition for them.
I see many talented actors that don't know how to audition for commercials.
There are so many small things that can make a BIG difference. The question
is, do you know what these things are and do you know WHY they are
important? As a casting director, I see what goes on behind the scenes, I
hear what the producers say, and what they like or don't like. I can help
you understand what to do to get more parts in commercials, based on that
information. You will have lots of time on camera to work on specific
skills. This is not a fluff and puff class. It is hands on and practical. It
doesn't matter if you are a beginner or have years of experience, I
guarantee you will learn things in my workshop that you have never learned
before. With lots of time on camera, and individual feedback, you can't
afford to miss this intensive one-day workshop. For actors of all levels who
are 16 or older.

Advanced Auditioning for Film: Saturday, June 23rd. 10 AM to 7 PM. This is a
continuation of the basic workshop so you MUST have taken the basic workshop
first. Since my teaching is unique, you will have to take my first workshop
regardless of your acting experience or other workshops you may have taken
with other instructors. No exceptions. 18 years and up. $200 includes pizza
lunch.
Weekly Scene Study: Available only to students who have taken at least one
of the film auditioning workshops that we offer. Each Thursday, 5-7 PM for
students who have taken the basic workshop. 7:30 - 9:30 PM for students who
have also taken the advanced film workshop. Cost is $40 per week or $125 if
pre-paid for month. Registration required. Workshops also offered in LA and
Tucson. Please email us for schedule of upcoming workshops.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR: Faith Hibbs- Clark, CSA, is a proud member of the
Casting Society of America and owner and head casting director for Good
Faith Casting, with offices in Los Angeles and Phoenix. Casting credits
include (to name a few) "Jarhead", "First Daughter", "The Whistler", "Wild
Seven", "Black Cloud," "The Savages" starring Phillip Seymor Hoffmann and
Laura Linney, and most recently, the Universal Picture/Imagine Entertainment
film "Kids in America." Faith has also cast numerous programs for the
History Channel, and hundreds of commercials including "Lowe's Hardware",
"CompUSA", "Wrigleys", "Honda" and an Emmy nominated Monday Night Football
promo starring Leslie Neilson. Faith is currently casting the TV series,
"Hidden Palms" for the CW Network and in pre-production for two films to

When a disturbing photograph of Richie's parents' service in Iraq is posted
to his locker, his life begins to unravel. Richie tries to uncover the truth
of his family's history with the help of his friend Amit and a digital
camera. Soon, seemingly innocent role-playing catapults Richie and Amit into
the center of a local murder mystery.

Set in the Bolivian jungle, this poignant play by the Oscar-nominated writer
of the Motorcycle Diaries, takes us to the last day in the life of Che
Guevara. Wounded and defeated, Che is captured and held in a one-room
schoolhouse. Julia Cortes, the village schoolteacher insists she be given
permission to speak to the famous revolutionary. This historic encounter is
at the heart of the play.
US/Mexico Program
This program supports collaborations between U.S. and Mexican Theatre
Artists. Borderlands will showcase several Mexican plays as staged readings
in English and Spanish, in partnership with stage and screen actor Victor
Carpinteiro.
Fall 2007.
Border Playwrights Program
This program commissions, develops and produces new plays through scheduled
workshops and staged readings. Many of these plays are fully produced as a
direct result of this program.

Rick Shipman has been one of the top comedic character actors in Phoenix for
the last 9 years. Rick has performed in over 50 plays, 5 Television
Commercials, 1 radio commercial, and many independent and industrial films.
He is represented by Dani's Agency in Phoenix. He has recently moved to
Tucson and is offering personal coaching to actors in the Tucson area

In addition to his extensive acting experience, Rick has taught for
Southwest Shakespeare Company, Cookie Company, Fountain Hills Community
