Daryl F. Mallett is an award-winning actor, producer, writer and a partner at Caribou Moving Pictures LLC. As an actor, Mallett has appeared in Carmady's People: The Case of the Reluctant Major (1986), Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987-94), Cannibal Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death (1989), Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country (1991), Star Trek: Deep Space Nine (1993-99) and National Treasure: Book of Secrets (2007). He was Producer on short film Retrocausality (2019), Assistant to the Producer on The Message (2004) and Associate Producer on Illusion (2005). He is also serving as writer and producer on a dramatic TV series in development called "Falcon Field", based on his history book of the same name, in development. He is an award-winning stage actor as well, appearing in over a dozen productions, including "Pirates of Penzance" for the Carson Civic Light Opera and won a Drama-Logue Award and an Ebenezer Award for his performance in "A Christmas Carol" (1991). As an author, Daryl has published 19 books, has edited over 50 books and has a few more coming in the next two years.

Set during the height of the French Revolution, four women –
a playwright, an assassin, a spy and an empress – bond to tell the
story of their turbulent times for future generations. It's a comedy. 
Guillotines may be involved. 


TRANSFORMATIONS 
October 31 - November 17, 2019
at St. Francis in the Foothills

In her play local actor and playwright van der Voort performs all twelve
transgender characters, their close relatives and significant others at a
group therapy session. TransFormations has been performed to acclaim
in Tucson and in cities around the nation, but this will be its first full run!

 
APPLES IN WINTER
November 27 - December 15, 2019
at Community Playhouse

We are with a woman baking a small pie in a kitchen not her own. The
room is bare and there are no chairs. A knife is attached to the work
table with a wire. This is the story of a mother's deepest love
and most grievous pain.

Metzler's sympathetic yet brutally honest play brings characters to
the stage not normally seen. Three women, diverse in all ways…
except that they have all recently given birth and are coping
with everything which comes with being the main caretaker.
Funny and uniquely insightful, written by a young mother. 
 

THE ALIENS
March 26 - April 12, 2020

The Community Players,

 

Tucson’s Premier Community Theatre Company, are holding open auditions for their upcoming World Premiere Production

Ellen Craft, Running A Thousand Miles for Freedom

Written by E. Reid Gilbert 

 

The play centers around the real-life journey to freedom of

 Ellen and William Craft, from a plantation

 in Georgia to Philadelphia and beyond. 

Based on writings chronicling their brave journey to freedom, 

Mr. Gilbert captures their hope and fear,

the risk and the blatant prejudice faced by the couple. 

 Ellen, posing as a white man travelling with her colored manservant,

 using very public modes of travel,

 must endure the harsh words and action of those she meets along the way. 

 A true testament to the courage and determination 

of one couple to be free from the life of slavery.

Their story can serve as a beacon for us as we stand

 and continue to battle a world full of prejudice. 

Please join us for this important and relevant play. 

 We are seeking men and women, ages 18 +,

 African American and white to fill numerous roles.

Tabitha Turnpike is a little girl with a big imagination. But when her imagination gets her in trouble with her mom and dad, they insist that she quit being creative and grow up. Only problem is, Tabitha discovers a monster living under her bed and she can't tell her mom and dad about it, because they will think she is using her imagination again. So it is up to Tabitha to deal with the monster herself. Watch Tabitha as she deals with her Monster-ous problem, and discovers all the good that comes out of using one's imagination.

Arizona’s first professional theatre company, Arizona Theatre Company is the state’s only member of the respected League of Resident Theatres (LORT) – as well as the only LORT theatre nationally that produces shows in two cities, Tucson (at the historic Temple of Music and Art) and Phoenix, (Herberger Theater Centre). ATC maintains offices in both Tucson and Phoenix. This position is based in Tucson but overnight travel to Phoenix required

Overview

The Company Manager is responsible for working with the General Manager on operations pertaining to the producing of a six show season. The position will have a main focus in organizing, budgeting and managing all travel, housing, transportation and personal needs for the visiting artists for the season.  This position also coordinates travel and transportation for staff and plans company events.  The ideal candidate is personable, detail oriented, organized and comfortable working under pressure.

Essential Functions

• Strategically plan all housing to fit within budget guidelines
• Manage all travel, accommodations and transportation for guest artists and staff
• Maintain company apartments and fleet of vehicles
• Build and maintain community partnerships to address personal needs that may arise while artists are in residence
• Manage department budget and report on travel, housing and vehicle budgets monthly
• Maintain Guest Artist Handbook
• Calmly and effectively handle emergency situations at any time of day or night
• Organize company special events such as Meet and Greets, Holiday Parties, and Staff Appreciation Lunches
• Other duties as assigned and needed

Qualifications

• College degree in the arts preferred
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Computer knowledge including Microsoft Word, Excel and extensive experience with using travel search engines on the Internet
• Familiarity with LORT and Actors Equity Association rules and regulations
• Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle needed
