Join us for the fourth annual Tucson Puppet Cabaret.  Enjoy a variety of vignettes for adults performed by musicians, actors, and puppeteers. Be prepared to laugh, reflect, shed a few tears, ponder the uncertainty of existence… and laugh some more! 

 

The cabaret is a weekend of curated short-form puppetry acts intended for adult audiences. The Tucson Puppet Cabaret is part of a global PUPPET SLAM NETWORK sponsored in part by Heather Henson's IBEX Puppetry. 

 

Puppets of all shapes, styles, and sizes will take to the stage in acts created by artists from not only our local Tucson community, but from across the United States!

This year we get four full weeks of shows due to when Christmas falls, so it will be a stocking-stuffed season of sillies! This year we are adjusting our schedule a bit, at 7:30 pm all month long, we will feature our annual Ugly Sweater Party with short-form comedy, and then the second half of the show will be Christmas Carol-aoke where we take your favorite Christmas carols and turn them into a hilarious improv show. And it's a sing along so, is the perfect way to feel merry and bright this holiday season. Then at 9 pm, several TIM house teams will be doing the Holiday Version of their show.

It is the merriest time of the year and some of my favorite shows of the year! The TIM Christmas tree will soon be going up featuring the names of all of our Performing Company Members. Happy Holidays from TIM, we can't wait to laugh with you this holiday season!

SYNOPSIS :

Bluebeard brings Judith, his new bride, to a remote castle. There are no
windows, only seven locked doors. Bluebeard tells her that no one must see
what lies behind them. She asks that the doors be opened to let in air and
sunlight. He opens the first door, revealing a torture chamber. Judith is
unafraid and asks Bluebeard to let her open the second door. Behind it, she
finds his armory, its weapons covered in blood.

In the third room, she sees mountains of gold and gems, all stained with
blood. The fourth door reveals the castle's secret garden, its flowers
speckled with blood. He tells her not to question him and bids her open the
fifth door to fill the castle with light. Through the fifth door, Judith
sees Bluebeard's vast kingdom, but soon a cloud casts a blood-red shadow
over the radiant landscape.

Two doors are still unopened. He says they must remain so, but she again
resists. Bluebeard lets her open the sixth door. Behind it lies a tranquil
lake, filled with tears. Bluebeard warns her that the last door must stay
shut forever. She demands that it be opened. In the final chamber are the
ghosts of his former wives, whom she joins.
