Happy Holidays to All!

Arizona Youth Chamber Ensemble will perform Gian Carlo Menotti's
heartwarming opera Amahl and the Night Visitors Saturday and Sunday,
December 10 and 11. Performances will be at the Canyon Del Oro High School
Little Theatre at 7:00 PM Saturday and 2:00 PM Sunday. The opera is
performed in English, and the cast is made up of the Arizona Youth Chamber
Ensemble, which includes talented young singers from the Tucson area.
Included in the cast as Amahl's mother will be Stephanie Dreisbach, the
director of AYCE, who has performed in many world premiers and recording
projects of current composers including; John Harbison, Arvo Part and
recently a Grammy-award winning recording of Krzysztof Penderecki's Credo.
"Amahl" has a beautiful score and touching libretto and appeals to all ages
and musical backgrounds. It has special appeal for children's imaginations
which easily relate to a child with a head full of dreams. It is a touching
and inspiring story of how faith, charity, unselfishness, and good deeds can
work miracles. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students with ID and
children13 and under.
