Tucson's own Crystal Stark stars in tribute to Ella Fitzgerald
TUCSON, AZ – Powerhouse performer Crystal Stark will take the stage at Quail Creek Country Club this Friday, June 24 at 7:00 pm in a salute to First Lady of Song Ella Fitzgerald.
The show, produced by Khris Dodge Entertainment, pays homage to Fitzgerald and features some of her most iconic works, but Crystal's approach to the music is what sets this show apart from other Ella Fitzgerald tributes. "Crystal spent countless hours listening to and studying Ella," says music director and co-creator Khris Dodge. "She does so much more than sing the same songs that Ella did. She listens for inflection, tone, and delivery…and performs them in a very Ella-like manner. When Crystal scats, she channels Ella and it comes through."
To Ella, with Love features beloved songs, including: A-Tisket, A-Tasket; Summertime; Mac the Knife; Blue Skies; How High the Moon; Embraceable You; and I Got Rhythm. Crystal will be joined on stage by Khris Dodge (piano), Rick Shosie (bass), Fred Hayes (drums), and Rylande Dodge (percussion).
