Sketch Classes

Sketch Classes go full throttle in July.  Our sketch writing curriculum features two levels, and focuses on the basics of writing comedy sketches.  Each course is six weeks in length.  First we look at generating comedic ideas, formulating comedic premises, the game of the sketch, and sketch revision.  We teach People to write smart two person scenes grounded in reality, and have fun doing it under the TIM Comedy Philosophy!  Are you an aspiring writer, want to write for SNL or a sitcom, just want to support your writing in general.  The join this fun collaborative comedy writing class! Daniel, our resident sketch instructor, has been performing improv and sketch comedy since 2006 when he joined Comedy Corner at The University of Arizona. During his 3 ½ years with the group he served as Director and Producer and wrote for and performed in hundreds of weekly Sketch Comedy and Short Form Improv shows.

Daniel's comedy philosophy is closely aligned with that of both TIM and UCB Theater. He believes in the importance of finding and playing the Game of the scene to consistently perform funny scenes and enjoys slow play based in realistic, grounded characters. Daniel believes in bringing the core concepts of the Art of Comedy into improv and strives put Comedy first in all of his work.
