Live Theatre Workshop's Education Program

LTW's Education Program

https://www.livetheatreworkshop.org/education/classes.html

We challenge each of our students individually and as an ensemble. There are many skill sets to be learned as an actor and we have created classes that help your children and teens advance to each new level. To achieve this goal, it's important to have each student in the proper grade level to learn and be challenged most effectively. Below you will find our registration listings. Please look closely at the grade levels in the listings below to determine the best fit for your child.

LTW's Education Fall Session 1 2020 Online Classes

Live Theatre Workshop is starting the fall online. As safety permits, we may be able to add some small in-person or outdoor classes. We have worked very hard to adjust all of our games, activites, and exercises to be taught and learned online. While we can’t be in the same room with all our students, we can still achieve our goals for each class. We are very excited to help you explore new forms of theatre.

All classes are held via Zoom

Some of our classes require materials (all included in our prices). In order to get these to your student, we have a parking lot pick up scheduled for Tuesday, September 8th between 5:30pm - 6:30pm at our new campus 3322 E. Fort Lowell Rd.

We know that students are missing out on social time right now. Our classes provide a time to connect with their peers and still exercise their creative side. We also want to offer to our students time to log on early to have free chat time with their friends. This session all instructors will start zoom 15mins before class time for any students who want to join early and just hangout, just like they would do while waiting in our lobby before a class!

Creative Dramatics

Ages: 4th - 6th grade Tuition: $135

What are objectives, beats, and intentions? How do I really become a character on stage? If you are a young actor who is ready to find the answers to these questions, then this is the class for you. We will be diving deep into character development by taking some basic acting skills and expanding on them. Using games and activities to achieve our goal, students will work on a short monologue that will be showcased in an online performance at the end of our 7 weeks together.

Class requirements: LTW will provide a bag with materials.

Register Saturdays, 10:00 - 11:30 AM • September 12 - October 10

Tween/Jr’s: Online Variety Show!

Students will get the opportunity to show off their many talents and choose from a monologue, duo scene, short group scene, solo song, duet, or small group numbers. Students will help critique others and get peer guidance through their own piece. In this class, students will get to connect with one another while putting together their own variety show!

Class requirements: There are no materials needed for this class.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to shoot a film while you’re quarantined at home? Who hasn’t? Well, all you need is an idea and a cell phone; we’ll help you out with the rest. Join us for this class, where you’ll learn the basics of putting a short film together: Creating an outline/script, storyboarding, shooting on your cell phone, and working with your instructors to edit your film together. At the end of this class, we will host a YouTube premier party and your short film will be ready to show the world!

Class requirements: Students need to have a functioning phone or camera with which they can send and upload MP4 or .MOV files. LTW will provide a bag with materials.

At the end of our 5 week class, we will have a YouTube premier party so make sure to invite the whole family.
