AUDITION ANNOUNCEMENT

The Santa Cruz Shoestring Players of Green Valley, AZ will hold auditions for the timeless American comedy "HARVEY" by Mary Chase on Monday, 1/26 and Tuesday, 1/27 from 6p to 8p. Auditioners will be asked to cold read from the script. A monologue is not required. Directed by Pat Timm, "HARVEY" will be performed at the Community Performing Arts Center of Green Valley April 1-3, and 7-10.

All ages, ethnicities and experience levels are encouraged to audition. Please bring a mask and proof of vaccination. To schedule an audition, or for additional information, email ptonstage@gmail.com or smvaz@aol.com

All parts are open. They are: 

Elwood P. Dowd  - a charming eccentric who's best friend is Harvey, an invisible six-and-a-half-foot-tall rabbit. 

Veta Louise Simmons  – Elwood's younger sister, she is intent on being a part of local fine society and landing a suitable husband for her daughter. 

Myrtle Mae Simmons – Veta's Daughter (Elwood's Niece). She is exasperated by the obstacles that Elwood (and Harvey) present  

Dr. Lyman Sanderson - a highly qualified psychiatrist.

Ruth Kelly – a nurse at Chumley's Rest who is very competent, but wants most of all to have Dr. Sanderson see her as more than a colleague.

Dr. William B. Chumley – an esteemed psychiatrist and the head of Chumley's Rest.

Duane Wilson – the muscle of Chumley's Rest, a devoted orderly responsible for handling the patients who will not cooperate voluntarily.

Judge Omar Gaffney – an old family friend of the Dowds and the family's lawyer. 

Betty Chumley – Dr Chumley's wife; a pleasant, energetic woman.

E.J. Lofgren – A cab driver who's seen it all and is a bit philosophical about it.

Mrs. Ethel Chauvenet – Local society juggernaut, from old money, accustomed to being accommodated and her opinion considered.
