Arizona Women's Chorus seeks singers for concert to Greece

Terrie Ashbaugh, conductor of the Arizona Women's Chorus has been invited  by Mid-America Productions to be a guest conductor in Athens, Greece, in July 2024. For this event, she is recruiting 80 singers — both men and women — to perform John Rutter's "Feel the Spirit" under her direction.

Choristers will also sing in a combined choral production under Maestro Peter Tiboris, an American producer particularly noted for conducting and producing concerts at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center and other classical music venues around the world, especially in Greece, she said.

Ashbaugh previously has taken choirs to Carnegie Hall as well as to Normandy, France, where the women's chorus performed in commemoration of the 75th anniversary of D-Day and the Dec 7th anniversary of the bombing of Pearl Harbor, all by invitation.

An accomplished pianist, composer, arranger, and conductor, Ashbaugh founded the Arizona Choral Arts Association and the Tucson Summer Chorus.

The women's chorus has been performing for more than 30 years in Tucson and beyond. As the choir's conductor since 1998, Ashbaugh has worked with as many as 90 singer-members to perform twice-yearly concerts of classical, jazz, and popular choral pieces.
