DAVID - here's the announcement.  Feel free to change the wording of anything. 

 

AUDITION ANNOUNCEMENT

St. Francis Theatre is looking for actors and a stage manager for their production of WATER BY THE SPOONFUL by Quiara Alegria Hudes. (directed by Maryann Green

 

The Play: Somewhere in Philadelphia, Elliot has returned from Iraq and is struggling to find his place in the world.  Somewhere in a chat room online, recovering addicts keep each other alive, hour by hour.  The boundaries of family and community are stretched across continents and cyberspace and biological families splinter and online families collide IRL. Rehearsals begin January 3rd and the show runs late February through early March.

 

Actors Needed:

Odessa - age 39, Puerto Rican, founder of www.recovertogether.com

Elliot - age 24, Odessa's birth son, Iraq vet

Yazmin - age 31, music professor, Elliot's cousin

John - age 38, white, computer programmer

Clayton - age 56, African-American, has a low level job with the IRS

Madeline - age 31, Japanese by birth - American by adoption, recovering addict, looking for her birth family

The Ghost - any age/race, preferably male

 

Also Needed: rehearsal / production stage manager

 

The Audition: Please prepare a 1 minute modern dramatic monologue and bring or email headshot and resume.  Plan to stay for scene readings with others.

 

Auditions are Thursday November 10th 6-9pm at Rincon High School Little Theater (5th St. near Swan) and Saturday November 12th 10am - 1pm at St. Francis in the Foothills, or by appointment at other times that week
