La Generación: Sonny Peters and His Generation of Music is a 6-week long exhibit of original photography and curated oral history digital installations chronicling Sonny's life in music in Nogales and the borderlands.

Sunday, March 21, 6pm

Hilltop Gallery

740 N. Hill Top Road, Nogales, AZ

A collection of rare photographs dating back to 1950's Nogales will be on display and augmented with three video installations of oral history unfolding Sonny's early years - a collaboration between Borderlands producer Veronica Conran and media artist Adam Cooper-Teran. Borderlands Theater and The Hilltop Gallery are working together to promote art and local history on the regional level. The organizations have banded together to create a bigger impact than what would possible for them to achieve individually. This event is the first in a series of bridge events produced by Borderlands Theater bridging the time between now and the Barrio Stories heritage festival coming in spring of 2022, made possible by a prestigious Our Town National Endowment for the Arts Creative Placemaking Grant.

The exhibit runs from March 21st- April 30th, 2021

Gallery hours: Monday-Friday 9AM to 5 PM
