It's time for the 7th Annual Int'l Wild Bunch Film Festival in Arizona. They're riding into Tucson for the first time and the festival will be held at the beautiful Galaxy Theatre located at 100 S. Houghton Rd. "It gets bigger every year, and we're very excited to bring it to Tucson", film festival director Rock Whitehead says.

Besides numerous awards presented, the festival will present it's first annual Robert Shelton Award. It will be presented at the festival's award show by a member of the Shelton family to a person or business that has played or is playing a key role in helping bring filmmaking to Southern Arizona. Robert Shelton of course was the founder of Old Tucson Studios and a longtime advocate for the Southern Arizona movie industry. Shelton founded Old Tucson Co. in 1959, 20 years after Columbia Pictures built the Wild West town as a set for "Arizona," an epic Western film starring Jean Arthur and William Holden.

"With Old Tucson Movie studios opening back up, and the Mescal movie set and Gammons Gulch staying very busy, western films are looking great for the future in southern Arizona. Not to mention that Arizona enacted the Arizona Motion Picture Production Program, an annual film and TV tax incentive for qualified productions. Check out our line-up of great films on our website. Many of the films were made in Arizona. It's an exciting time for the western film genre",  Whitehead says.
