Pima Theatre starts off its season with family-friendly Ballet & Bagels, directed by Milta Ortiz. An original play with a diverse cast that centers around a young Latina ballerina, who learns the power of her own voice. This stage play is written and performed by Pima Theatre students.

Pima Theatre presents Cabaret, book by Joe Masteroff, based on the play by John Van Druten and stories by Christopher Isherwood, music by John Kander, and lyrics by Fred Ebb. This production is directed by Mickey Nugent, with music direction by Martha Reed. Set in Berlin during the Jazz Age as the Nazis are ascending to power, the musical focuses on the nightlife at the seedy Kit Kat Klub and American writer Clifford Bradshaw's relationship with English cabaret performer Sally Bowles.

Pima Theatre's annual Spring musical is Sunday in the Park with George, with music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and book by James Lapine. Directed by Chris Will. The story follows the struggling painter, George Seurat in the time leading up to the making of his famous painting, "A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte."

Pima Theatre closes its season with the drama Proof, written by David Auburn. Directed by Pima Theatre alumni Gianbari Deebom, with assistant director PJ Peavy. This story follows Catherine, whose celebrated mathematician father, Robert, has recently died after battling mental illness. When a former student discovers an original proof in Robert's office, Catherine must prove it is her work even when no one believes her.

Free Admission

 

In honor of Shakespeare's birthday, Pima Theatre's Shakespeare class performs Romeo and Juliet in Less than 30 Minutes. Written by William Shakespeare and directed by Chris Will. This exciting live performance will give viewers the option to see a few different versions of scenes from "Romeo and Juliet" by different casts.
