Subject: AUDITIONS - ARIZONA ONSTAGE PRODUCTIONS - DEVIL BOYS FROM BEYOND - Drag and camp!

Arizona Onstage Productions is seeking eight male(?) actors of any and all ethnicity, ages 20 – 70, four or more of which will be playing female roles. This gender bending "John Waters" type of comedy is not for the kiddies. We also need two buff dudes to be hot green alien men! We also welcome women actors wishing to play male characters! The show will run two to three weeks in January, with reprises, we hope, at other venues. This is considered a late night show, however, there will be performances scheduled on Thursday evenings as well as Sunday afternoon performances. This is a paid position.

Directed by Fred Rodriguez.

Knowledge of drag and/or the archetypal characterizations of legends such as Bette Davis, Joan Crawford and Judy Garland is especially welcomed. This is about mean women cat fighting while dealing with hunky gay aliens wanting to give them babies!  This is over the top, but highly disciplined performance material.

Characters:

Florence Wexler – An older Southern woman
Gilbert Wiatt – A New York City newspaper editor
Gregory Graham – Photographer
Matilda Van Buren – Star reporter
Lucinda Marsh – Star reporter
Dotty Primrose – Proprietor of the Evening Primrose Motor Lodge
Harry Wexler – Florence's husband
Jack Primrose – Dotty's husband and Sheriff of Lizard Lick

Flying saucers! Backstabbing bitches! Muscle hunks and men in pumps! Summer of 1957 is a scorcher and something strange is going on in the swamps of Lizard Lick, Florida.

AUDITIONS - When: Sunday, May 22, 2011
Time: 1pm – 5pm
Where: Temple of Music and Art, upstairs rehearsal hall

If you are interested, we can send you the entire script via email, then you can focus on what character you might wish to read for. Sides will also be provided for each character at auditions.  If you are interested in booking a 10 minute slot for auditions, please email Attn Dolly Spalding at azonstage@yahoo.com and tell us what time of day is best for you, as well as if you wish to get a perusal script emailed to you.  Please note that this is an R-rated show.
