THE WEEKEND BRINGS NATALIE DOUGLAS

plays Saturday-Sunday, July 9-10

Natalie Douglas has been called "a true force of nature" and "in a league of her own" by Clive Davis of The London Times.

When she sings, important people listen. But none will be more important than the audience  on July 9 in the Skyline Country Club forSizzling Summer Sounds presented by Invisible Theatre in a show called "Sizzle and Sass with Natalie Douglas."

This soulful cabaret singer is a Nightlife, Backstage Bistro and seven-time MAC (Manhattan Association of Cabarets and Clubs) Award Winner and recipient of the Margaret Whiting Award from the Mabel Mercer Foundation. 

Her portrait also hangs on the legendary Birdland Jazz Club Wall of Fame. 

Douglas has brought crowds to their feet across the U.S., from Carnegie Hall to Birdland, the Café Carlyle and Herbst Theatre to Thalian Hall and Jazz at Lincoln Center's very own Appel Room. Her passport has stamps from doing appearances in the United Kingdom, Germany, Montenegro, Greece, Corsica, Argentina and Mexico.

For the "Sizzle and Sass" show, Douglas and musical director Jon Weber will be weaving a musical tapestry of jazz, standards and musical theater. Performances are Saturday, July, at 8 p.m. and Sunday, July 10, at 2 p.m. 

 

Sizzling Summer Sounds is Invisible Theatre's annual summer cabaret showcase produced and directed by Susan Claassen, creating that big city feel for three weeks of musical magic, July 7 to July 23, at Skyline Country Club, 5200 E. St. Andrews Drive.

Rob Boone, harpist Christine Vivona and pianist/drummer Ray Templin serve up a jazzy summer cocktail of musical styles from Ragtime through the Roaring Twenties.

Friday, July 22, and Saturday, July 23, at 8 p.m.

Vocal stylist Katherine Byrnes and musical director Jeffrey Haskell pay tribute to Barbra Streisand.
