AUDITION NOTICE--Brand New Opera Company
The Arizona Rose Opera Company will be holding
auditions for our inaugural 2016/2017 Season!
Audition Date:
at the Berger Performing Arts Center
OPEN AUDITIONS FROM 1:45-3:00 pm
We are currently auditioning for the following productions:
The Telephone
A comic opera in one act by Gian Carlo Menotti that tells the story of Ben, a young man determined to ask his girlfriend Lucy to marry him--if only he can get her to hang up the phone first!
We are seeking one baritone to play Ben (age 20-35) and one coloratura soprano to play Lucy (age 20-35).

The Medium
A short, two act dramatic opera by Gian Carlo Menotti that tells the story of a fraudulent medium, Madame Flora, and what happens when she begins to experience real supernatural phenomena. The opera also portrays the burgeoning relationship between her daughter Monica, and Toby, her non-verbal ward.
We are seeking one lyric soprano (can be light lyric) to play Monica (age 18-30), one non-singing actor to play Toby (age 18-30 with a slight physical build), one dramatic mezzo or contralto to play Madame Flora (age 30-60), one lyric soprano to play Mrs. Gobineau (age 30-45), one baritone to play Mr. Gobineau (age 30-45), and one lyric mezzo baritone to play Mrs. Nolan (age 30-45).
PLAYING MID TO LATE NOVEMBER
(Exact weekends TBD)
Fridays/Saturdays at 7pm & Sundays at 2pm
CASTING FOR ALL ROLES
All performers will be paid a stipend
Please prepare an aria in English that showcases your acting ability and your English diction. If you are auditioning for the role of Toby (a non-singing role) please prepare a brief silent improv scene.
AN ACCOMPANIST WILL BE PROVIDED
