REGISTRATION OPEN FOR ARIZONA THEATRE COMPANY'S

SUMMER ON STAGE/SUMMER BACKSTAGE PROGRAMS

 

TUCSON, Ariz. (April 23, 2017):  High School students have the opportunity to get first-hand advanced experience with theatre professionals in voice, movement, acting, classical styles, dance and backstage skills during Arizona Theatre Company's Summer on Stage and Summer Backstage Programs, June 26 to July 28.

Students in the Summer On Stage program will spend the first three weeks at the University of Arizona School of Theatre Arts where they will be mentored by ATC staff and professional teaching artists, while Backstage students will spend this time at the Temple of Music and Art, and ATC's scene shop honing their skills.

Registration is now open for the intensive five-week program. Tuition for the program is $850 through May 27 and $950 after.  Registration closes on June 17.  

A $50 nonrefundable registration fee is due with registration which can be accessed at www.arizonatheatre.org/education-programs. A limited number of scholarships are available.

Students in the Summer On Stage program will be cast in one of two program-concluding fully produced production on the main stage at the Temple of Music and Art, 333 S. Scott Ave. in downtown Tucson.

Students choosing Summer Backstage will work with professionals in lighting, costumes, set construction and stage management and will train to work backstage for one of the two program-ending productions.

The program runs from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, except on July 4, with an hour for lunch each day.  Performances are scheduled July 27 and 28 at 7 p.m.
