CASTING CALL FOR STUNT SHOW PERFORMERS

 

Over 200 performers in 26 years have graced the streets of Trail Dust Town. Now it’s your turn.

The Pistoleros Wild West Show is seeking physically fit actors and performers for part-time, paid positions in our live outdoor stunt production. This is a unique opportunity to join a celebrated ensemble with more than two decades of tradition in America’s most celebrated Wild West show venue. If you are athletic, fearless, and passionate about performance, we want to hear from you.

Performance Requirements

Applicants must be prepared for a highly physical role. Show duties include, but are not limited to:

• High-impact falls and stunts, including falls from heights up to 25 feet
• Running, jumping, and acrobatic movement
• Landing, falling, and rolling on both hard and soft surfaces
• Lifting and supporting other performers
• Working at height and in elevated staging environments
• Handling and performing with blank-fire firearms and edged stage weapons
• Working with and around explosive pyrotechnic effects
• Performing outdoors in variable weather conditions
• Responding to musical and verbal cues while in physical exertion
• Projecting voice clearly and audibly under demanding physical conditions

 

Eligibility & Physical Standards

All applicants must meet the following baseline criteria:

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must be in good physical health with no known limitations to the performance requirements described above
• Male applicants: minimum height 5‘0”, maximum weight 200 lbs.
• Female applicants: minimum height 5‘5”, maximum weight 145 lbs.
• Must possess appropriate vision or be willing to wear corrective contact lenses (eyeglasses are prohibited for safety and theatrical reasons)
• Must be willing to work weekends and holidays

 

Professional Standards

The Pistoleros is a family-friendly show presented in a historically themed environment. All performers are considered public representatives of the show and are expected to uphold the following standards at all times, including at performance venues, in public, and on social media:

• Victorian/Old West grooming standards: no unnaturally colored hair, radical hairstyles, or visible tattoos
• No jewelry worn during performances (safety requirement)
• Consistent family-friendly conduct and public presence in accordance with Pistoleros standards

 

Federal Licensing Requirement

Pistoleros performances incorporate explosive pyrotechnic effects that require federal ATF certification. All selected performers must be willing to submit to the required federal background check as a condition of employment.
