Subject: Call For Directors/Actors Play In A Day
We start on Friday with staged readings of 5 short plays written by Old Pueblo Playwrights members. We draw the writer's names (who come to us from anywhere in Arizona) from a hat on Friday and send them to their rooms to produce 10 minute plays which directors and actors rehearse Saturday and present to the audience as staged readings on Saturday night. On Saturday, the audience chooses best play and a panel of judges from Tucson's theatre community choose their favorite. Both choices are awarded a cash prize. This is interactive theatre at it's most original.
We need Directors and Actors who want to accept the challenge of showing up early Saturday morning to direct and act in these 10 minute masterpieces. The plays are randomly assigned and the actors are selected by the directors based solely on type or sex called for. No auditions. If you think you are up to the challenge we want you! The commitment is all day Saturday November 5th until performances are over and the prizes are awarded. Directors call is 8AM/ Actors should arrive by 9AM.
