Subject: The Red Barn Theatre Company & Those Guys Productions present "Hughie"

Red Barn Theatre Co. in association with Those Guys Productions present "HUGHIE" by Eugene O'Neill.

"Hughie" is set in a lobby of a seedy Times Square Hotel early one morning in the late 1920's. There is a  withdrawn night clerk and a penny ante gambler named Erie. Erie has spent most of his last 15 year at the hotel between bouts of drunkenness and babbles through tales of his life's imaginary successes as well as his optimism toward the futile future. The night clerk listens to the touching glibness revealing a telling measure of what is behind this man's delusions.

Intended as part of a series of plays, "Hughie" became the lone survivor when O'Neill destroyed the others. It did not receive its American premiere until 20 years after its composition and 10 years after the author's death. It is seldom, if ever, done today.

The show stars: Paul Hammack - Night Clerk and Anthony Vincent - Erie Smith
