Subject: New Film in AZ Incentive Bill
Friends of Film in Tucson,
SB 1170, the “Multimedia Production Incentives” bill has been introduced at the Arizona Legislature and will have its first hearing in the Senate Commerce Committee on January 25 at 9AM. Find more information about the bill here.
Led by Senator John Nelson (R), stakeholders have been at work for months crafting this legislation. The program, designed to attract TV series which spend 9 months a year on location, would attract hundreds of high wage sustainable jobs to Arizona within months of its implementation. Once produced, films and TV series can dramatically increase Tourism dollars to a region as well.
The bill also includes incentives for major motion picture, independent and commercial advertising production.
Please ask your State Senators and Representatives to support SB1170 and to revive Arizona’s film legacy in our Centennial year. To find out how to contact them, click here.
