Subject: PRESS RELEASE: Centennial Concert of Champions, TCC Music Hall, Jan 19th
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE PLEASE
Arizona Centennial Concert of Champions to be held Jan 19th, Tucson Music Hall
(Tucson, AZ, Jan 4, 2012)—Tucson Barbershop eXperience will be presenting a musical tribute to the Arizona Centennial on Thursday, Jan 19th at 8PM at the TCC Music Hall.
This gala celebration will feature songs of Arizona in four part harmony – both contemporary tunes as well as those being sung in Arizona in 1912 – and some very talented performers.
Special guests include the AZ Champion Chorus "Spirit of Phoenix", the 2008 International Champion Quartet "OC Times" and the 2009 Senior Quartet Champion "Audacity". "This is truly a concert of champions," said show director Jim Hart. "We have taken advantage of having these talented singing groups in town that weekend as part of the over 2,000 barbershoppers attending the barbershop 2012 Mid-Winter Convention. They will augment our own award-winning chorus and quartets in honoring the 100th birthday of Arizona and giving Tucson music fans an entertaining evening and the very best of barbershop music."
Tucson Barbershop eXperience, the performing chorus of the Sunshine Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society, will also debut the Men's Centennial Chorus – organized for this special production. This is also a special concert for director Jeff Dolan, who has been selected as the newest member of the 1960's doo-wop group the "Diamonds" and will be touring, singing bass and playing trombone for the group beginning this year.
Tickets for the concert are $20 and available online at www.tucsonbarbershopharmony.org. Seats may also be reserved by calling 520-326-2000 or at the door on January 19th,
TCC Music Hall, 260 S. Church Ave, Tucson, AZ.
