We're So Ready for Live Funny

The only thing missing...is YOU

Have you heard the news?

It's true!

After more than a YEAR bringing the funny to Tucson (& the world!) via a series of tubes known as The Internet — it's time for us to open up our doors.

And our re-opening date is less than three weeks away!

But there's still something we're missing that'll make our grand re-reopening a success.

YOU!

Unscrewed Theater is a 100% all-volunteer-run nonprofit - and we'd love for you to join our family.

We've been hard at work prepping the theater for the Back on Our Feet Weekend coming in August and could use a few extra hands behind the scenes. As a special bonus, volunteers can earn points to attend some of our improv classes - and you see the show for free! If you've been looking to meet some fun people and get involved with the local Tucson comedy scene - let us know.

To volunteer with us, head on over to VolunteerMatch.org. Click that "I Want to Help!" button to send us a message. We've got two different types of volunteer spots open:

  • General Theater Volunteer: You wanna help with it all - everything from box office, concessions, house management, tech booth, and ushering, just to name a few.
  • Box Office Volunteer: You're ready to meet new people and make our audience feel at home and happy BEFORE the show even starts.

Volunteers must be 18 or over and fully vaccinated.

While you're waiting for the in-person comedy…we've got lots of ways you can find the funny online.

Is your Sunday wide open? Why not have some fun & learn to improve your listening skills with our special guest instructor Jenn Bianchi? There's still space in her "Listen Like a Thief" workshop!

And our House Party 2.0 features the motley crew of Not Burnt Out Just Unscrewed - on stage! They'll be performing in person for a family-friendly show Saturday night that we'll Livestream directly to your living room. Don't forget to register for the Zoom link!

See you (live and in 3D) soon!

Flashback Episode!
🎶 Ten Minutes With Dawn 🎶

This Friday, get ready for a Dawn Flashback! We're going back in time to feature two players from our #10MinutesWithDawn Video Vault - Jay Sukow and Rolland Lopez.

And if you're craving more, we've got over 30 different improvisers we've featured over the past year. You can watch the magic at our
Video Vault.

Episode #4: Featuring Rolland Lopez
Rolland isn't very good at writing bios. He's a decent singer, a surprisingly good dancer, and has easily spent 10,000 hours mastering the skill of TV watching.

He's also not very good at moderation. 1 slice of pizza quickly becomes an entire pie. And 1 improv class at the recommendation of his voiceover instructor quickly became coaching student shows, teaching all levels of the curriculum, starting several teams, co-forming Rollin' in Riches, and with Rich Baker, touring the states performing and headlining in festivals and teaching workshops.

Watch as Rolland & Dawn create improv magic from a completely random suggestion.

Check it out
right here!

Episode #20: Featuring Jay Sukow!
Jay has learned improv from great folks like Steve Carell, Stephen Colbert, Jon Favreau, Del Close, Keith Johnstone, and many others. He was a faculty member of The Second City and iO Chicago and has taught for ComedySportz Chicago. He teaches all around the world, from newbies to Fortune 100 executives to veteran improvisors.

He also has extensive performing experience on the stages of The Second City, iO Chicago, ComedySportz, the Annoyance Theater, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Club Med, and throughout the world, including Canada!

Jay and Dawn discover the meaning of life, the universe, and French fries while pondering the hole at the center of the galaxy.

See where it takes 'em - only on the
Unscrewed Theater Facebook page!
