Live from Speedway Boulevard

It's the Unscrewed House Party 2.0 🎉

July feels like a good month to celebrate!

And we're bringing the party back to our Speedway Stage - with the brand-new Unscrewed House Party 2.0!

After over a year of performing from behind a glowing blue screen, we're BACK and broadcasting live from our home in Tucson, AZ.

And it feels SO GOOD to be home.

For the entire month of July, we'll continue to perform in our FREE online shows that will stream right into your home from our stage in the Old Pueblo. Get ready to see some of the improv teams (and faces!) you've been missing - starting with Big Daddies, our special guests performing this Saturday @ 7:30 PM PDT/MST. Make sure you register ahead of time, so you've got that super-special Zoom link ready to go.

But wait - there's more!

We're keeping the good times rolling with even more online fun!

Our virtual training center is PACKED with special guest workshops from the talented Jenn Bianchi & Elizabeth Byland - and we've got a special lineup of flashback episodes of Ten Minutes With Dawn.

It's all available from wherever you are - so come join in on the fun!

🎶 Ten Minutes With Dawn 🎶
Flashback Episode!

It's about time for a FLASHBACK EPISODE!

We're taking a look back at the (34!) different improvisers we've featured over this last year. Every Friday @ 10AM AZ time, we've been featuring a brand new episode of Ten Minutes With Dawn. Our very own Dawn McMillen performs a short scene with talented actors & improvisers from around the world -- and then they debrief and chat in a quick behind-the-scenes video. It's all online - and only on the Unscrewed Theater Facebook page.

This week, we're taking a look back at some of our favorite episodes.

If you haven't seen them, now's your chance! And if you've got a favorite guest from a past episode...
send us an email and let us know who we should feature next!

Episode #1: Featuring Alrinthea Carter! That's right, we're taking it back to the beginning. Alrinthea was our very first guest - and a talented photographer, Muppet Super Fan (wocka wocka), DJ, and Fly Girl who spends her free time as an Academic Affairs Professional at Clemson University. Alrinthea got her start in comedy entertaining guests at her parents' pretty legendary house parties.

Alrinthea & Dawn make up a scene (on the spot!) based on the word....woody.

Check it out
right here!

Episode #11: Featuring Scotty Watson! Scotty is an alumnus of The Second City Canadian National Touring Company & taught Improv & Advanced Sketch Writing for The Second City NYC.  He is currently the Master Teacher and Head of NYC Faculty for the improvisational theatre program at ANDTheatre Company (Artistic New Directions) in Manhattan.

Scotty & Dawn make up a scene on the spot based on the suggestion "Pro Wrestler Giving a Speech Before a Duel."

See where it takes 'em only on the
Unscrewed Theater Facebook page!

Saturday, 7/10

7:30pm (MST/PDT)
Improv Comedy

Everyone's on stage!

It's time for another episode of the Unscrewed House Party 2.0 - live from Speedway!

Tonight our special guest is our fave improv duo team - Big Daddies!  Big Daddies is our newest house team, featuring Matt Beaudry and Michael Pierce! They've been keeping busing with a
regular podcast where they talk about fatherhood, raising kids, and the hilarity and chaos that ensues.

Big Daddies will be performing (in person!) with Jon, Cam, David, Rick, Rosanne, Jessica - & your host, Rob Sparks! Everyone will be live, on stage, and IN PANTS for this very special show.

Don't miss the next edition of our Unscrewed House Party - this Saturday @7:30pm MST!

P.S. This is a free online show, but if you'd like to support us while we get ready to re-open our doors, ticket prices for our live shows are $8 for adults and $5 for kids, which would make a
lovely donation to the theater.

"It Takes Two," Taught by Bianchi & Byland

It takes two to make a thing go right!  It takes two to make it out of sight!  This workshop, taught by two improv besties, is about bringing your improv duo to the next level through bold and diverse character work, listening and noticing each other's subtleties, and creating a world based on relationships and trust. Have a duo partner? Then sign up together! Looking for a duo partner, then maybe you'll find your improv other half!

Sunday, July 18

12-3pm MST/PDT
"The Improvisor's Playground" Taught by Elizabeth Byland

As of late, improv via Zoom has felt a little stiff, hasn't it? It's okay. We know it's hard to see the zoom square as a virtual playground rather than a virtual cubicle. However, this physical workshop, led by Elizabeth Byland (co-founder of Queen City Comedy, Professor of Improv at Virginia Commonwealth University, and the other half of Bianchi & Byland) will give you a new creative lens on Zoomprov and the playground that surrounds you, whether you're in an office, a bedroom, or a beautiful theatre!

Sunday, July 25

12-3pm MST/PDT
"Listen Like a Thief" Taught by Jenn Bianchi

The best way to get out of your own way is to focus on your partner.  Listen Like a Thief will help you believe in your partner's deal harder than they can.  When we listen with our whole bodies, not just ears, we will pick on subtle cues to find something wonderful right away and heighten established patterns.
