New Kiva Motions Puppetheatre, Arizona's
premier professional puppet theatre will be
presenting "Feathertop" adapted from the short story
of the same name by Nathaniel Hawthorne ( yes, the
same man who wrote "The Scarlet Letter"). Performed
with live actors, traditional puppetry and also in a
style similar to Japanese bunraku puppetry
"Feathertop" is the story of a scarecrow who goes out
into the world with only his Yenta's love, a bunch of
advice and a loquacious crow to guide him. As with
"The Scarlet Letter" this story has to do with
appearances, deception and the culpability of those in
power. New Kiva Motions always puts an irresistible
twist on every show.
After the show meet the puppets up close
and make a simple puppet to take home with you.  All
ages welcome. Shows are at2 & 4pm at the Red Barn, 948
N. Main. Tix are $5/person  ( kids and adults), low
income bus pass or AHCCCS card gets you in for $2. No
charge for
infants but we are not encouraging you to bring them.

related arts to Arizonans since 1976. As always, comps
