Tucson, Arizona--Pima Community College Music presents the Orchestra in concert, under the direction of Dr. Alexander Tentser. The program consists of well-known classical compositions including selections from the Tchaikovsky's ballet “Nutcracker," as well as pieces by Liszt, Berlioz, Haydn and Mozart. Emily Regis performs a flute solo in Handel's “Concerto Grosso Op. 3” for flute and strings.
The PCC Orchestra is made up of high school students, college students and community adults. Tentser came to America in 1990, after graduating from the highly recognized Russian Music Academy in Moscow, Russia. He conducted the production of the oratorio "Esther" with the Jill Wieck Singers and Orchestra in March 2009, in Tucson. He directs the PCC Orchestra, conducts the Arizona Balalaika Orchestra and teaches piano and other music courses at the West and Desert Vista Campuses.
