Pima Community College Music presents the Chorale & College Singers in a Holiday Concert

Tucson, Arizona--Pima Community College Chorale & College Singers, under the direction of Dr. Jonathan Ng, presents a holiday concert featuring a wide range of choral carol arrangements. The Chorale will perform a 20th century setting of the English carol “Jesus Christ the Apple Tree” by E. Poston, “Whence is That Goodly Fragrance” by M. Wilberg, two carols arranged for mixed chorus and piano-four-hand by Howard Helvey, and three excerpts from F. Mendelssohn’s unfinished oratorio “Christus.” The College Singers will present a Baroque setting of “Lo, How a Rose E’er Blooming” by M. Praetorius, three carol arrangements by J. Rutter, and “Carol of the Bells” by M. Leontovich. Both choruses will join to perform a jazz-style arrangement of “Wonderful Counselor” by R. Huff and “The Many Moods of Christmas Suite III” by R. Shaw & R. Bennett.

 
The Chorale & College Singers concert is open to the public. Pima Community College Center for the Arts is located on the West Campus at 2202 West Anklam Road, Tucson (just west of downtown).
