Tucson, AZ – Arizona Repertory Theatre presents Top Girls, by Obie Award winning playwright Caryl Churchill, February 3 – 24, 2019 in the Tornabene Theatre located at

1025 N. Olive Road (UA campus located near the SE corner of Park Avenue and Speedway Boulevard).

Top Girls, directed by UA Assistant Professor David Morden, explores what it means to be a successful woman in the 20th century.  The play is set in 1982 and follows the character Marlene, who is driven by her desire to achieve professional success at a time when glass ceilings were starting to crack and women were finding their voice in the corporate and political world.

“Ms. Churchill paints a picture from a woman’s perspective that is, frankly, not all hearts, flowers and yellow brick roads.  On the contrary, the play is often unnerving and a little foreboding,” said Morden.  One of the most important playwrights of today, Caryl Churchill, has provided a brilliant script that celebrates women throughout history and brings to life a time when things seemed to be finally changing and reminds us of the distance still left to be traveled.

Ticket prices range from $17 to $28.  Discounts available for seniors, military, UA employee/alumni and groups of 10 or more.  Tickets can be purchased at tickets.arizona.edu or by calling the College of Fine Arts Box Office at (520) 621-1162 or in person at 1025 N. Olive Road.  Box office hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 12-4pm.
