Borderlands Theater is a professional theater company recognized nationally and internationally for the development and production of theater and educational program that reflects the diversity of the voices of the Southwest border region. Although focusing on the Latino/Chicano voice as the core voice to nurture and support, Borderlands works interactively with all of the voices of the region. The "border," both as physical and social landscape, is a metaphor for Borderlands' work. This metaphor allows, invites and even demands, both a regional and an international understanding of what it represents. Border people, in the best sense of the word, are citizens of the world.
The Box Office Manager is responsible for all aspects of ticket sales for Borderlands Theater including the handling of individual phone, online and in-person sales to coordinating larger group sales, and general office duties. The Box Office Manager will work closely with the Business Manager on regular sales reports, daily box office reconciliation, and assisting with box office settlements for. The Box Office Manager will also help to train and supervise box office representatives.
The Box Office Manager is responsible for coordinating and recruiting volunteers to help out at shows and throughout the community. This includes scheduling and training volunteers.
The Box Office Manager will work extensively with Vendini ticket software to build performances, coordinate promotions, and ensure a quick and easy ticket-buying experience for Borderlands customers. The Box Office Manager will be the on-site point person for addressing customer needs and resolving complaints at scheduled performances, and must embody excellent customer service practices.
Qualifications:
• Must have excellent customer service and communication skills
• Progressive experience in a Box Office, Front of House or hospitality management setting with knowledge of ticketing/booking software
• Ability to multi-task and problem-solve in a fast-paced work environment
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Experience with Theatre Manager ticketing software preferred
• Required attendance at all shows, evening and weekend availability on a regular basis.
